This is the I75 - Miami to Naples road - so called as you are meant to see alligators roaming around - HAS ANYONE ever seen one? You can see them however but you have to take a swamp tour (quite a few advertised around here) and you can watch them being fed etc.
Have just put a post on about our experiences with an alligator, not up in Alligator Alley ( too many cars) but deeper into the Glades at Flamingo. You ask if anyone has ever seen a gator. Well, we did and this one was a humdinga! We have seen quite a big one at Cape Canaveral also.

We'd rather watch paint dry on a wet weekend than chance our arm down Alligator Alley... it's soooo dull. John recalls the journey as a child, knowing there was 120 miles still to go to Fort Lauderdale the signs counting the miles down added to the agony.

It is a boring road but check out the lakes around your home, if anyone's desperate to see one! <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

Friends atayed on Poinciana and there were 3 in the lake neare to the house. While my friend was talking to me on the phone she could see the eyes of one in the lake through the patio window.
It was about 6 feet long and they don't get removed until they are about 8 feet.

I recall seeing a program on TV about Orlando International Airport - they have ornamental lakes between the taxiways and there is a guy whose job it is to clear Gators from these lakes.
I've always watched them closely every time we arrive on a plane but have not seen a Gator in them yet!

Not seen any Gators at Crescent Lakes yet. When we stayed at Indian Point before we bought our own villa there was a baby Gator is the lake at the end of the road:

I saw a gator in February, I was actually riding on Kraken at the time, we were slowly going up the big hill at the start, and me and my brother could see this really big gator on the outer boundaries of the park! It was at the side of the road just laying there sunbathing!
Quite funny, we were so distracted by seeing the gator that I didnt worry at all about that first big drop.............ugh!
