We did a few years ago. The location was great as we could walk to the local supermarket. There are also lots of restaurants nearby. Also, it's really close to Disney, so that's a plus! If you look on the villa renting sites on the links above, there is an area which gives descriptions of the different communities and you will be able to find out some more info from there-have a great time!

Emerald Island is a very popular subdivision. There is a clubhouse and a communal pool. The location is close to Disney and the shops and restaurants on nearby Formosa Boulevard are very handy. The owner will be able to tell you more about the exact location within the subdividsion and the layout of the property itself. There are a wide variety of home layouts at Emerald Island. I stayed in one of the townhomes a few years ago. I was there for 6 weeks, I was on my own for most of the time, villa hunting. My husband was working but came over for the last 2 weeks to see my shortlist. I really enjoyed the location.

You`ll really enjoy staying at Emerald Island. I would say that of course[msnwink]. The club house is a great place to meet other families if that`s what you want. It has a pool and spa, fitness room, free use of the pc`s with internet access, games room and a sauna. Also there are a couple of kiddies play areas, tennis court and volleyball court. There are plenty of restaurants minutues from the resort and publix supermarket is less than 5 minutes drive. Remember to use the short cut to Disney as it saves so much time during the peak season. I`m sure the owner of the villa you have booked will gladly give you more information if you need it. Have a great holiday.
Hannah.

We stayed in Emerald Island in March 2005 and plan to stay again in May 2006. We really liked it. Very new, very quiet, very secure, very close to WDW. If you are driving to WDW be sure to get directions using the Sherberth Road shortcut (very easy, you just take a left off 192 when you see Sherberth Road). You can get onto WDW property in 5 minutes if there is no traffic. You'll love it!

We stayed in Emerald Island in a Town House in March 2005 and have booked to stay in the same Town house in December 2006/January 2007.

Nice community, very close to both Disney and the 192.

We stayed September 2005. We had a great time. It was quiet and secluded but near enough to be home from Disney in 10mins. It's a gated community. It has a clubhouse and small park, and a gymn I think but we didn't have chance to lose any of these. There were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

Hubby wants to know if these communities are near a ponderosa or sizzlers on 192. Does anyone know the marker number on 192 these communities are near?

They are at Marker 5 Bethany. There is a Ponderosa just down the road, an Outback, TGI Fridays, Carrabas, Giordianos and a great chinese restaurant as well as a supermarket. We are at Sunset Lakes, next to Emerald Isle[msnsmile]
