I asked a question today about car hire which I understand questioned the rates on this site but it appears my question was bumped off as I had some replies but when I went into the site the topic was nowhere to be found.
I did apologise in advance if I'd asked a question which was out of line and I understand that a certain website is promoted here but is there any reason why we shouldn't raise a question on price comparison. I think it was a perfectly legitimate question.
thank you
I think you will find it has been moved to Driving in Florida area

No, don't see it there...
If there had been some replies quoting other car sites it would have been pulled.

Not me - we've been having a birthday party (for me!) and I've not been on the forums much today .

Just in case you think you are losing your mind, I can confirm that it was there earlier today alhough I didn't reply. As I recall it, you mentioned another car hire site that you believed to be cheaper than the link above and wanted advice as to using it. I suspect that is the reason it isn't there any longer.
Just for the record, I'd be very surprised if you can find a GOOD RELIABLE car rental company that could significantly undercut the above. I know because I have tried hard to do it but failed.

Aha - that makes sense. You would not expect BBC to advertise ITV programs, Microsoft to tell you to buy a Mac, Ford tell you to buy a Vauxhall car. We are no different.
You also have to be careful you are comparing like with like. We offer a car hire booking with just £25 deposit and the balance 8 weeks before departure - I don't know of anyone else offering this. We also offer 2 drivers as standard with Dollar which not many other sites do.
Also, some sites use less well known suppliers who have not been trading long and some of whom have a bad reputation in the business. We only use very well known and long standing suppliers.
Finally, our customer service is second to none - we pride ourselves on this and are happy we are amongst the best there is for this.
All this, and a great price that is very hard to beat. I'll stop now before I convince myself [msnwink]

here here, its the best site for car hire!!!
well done
i also saw the posting about car hire, and did wonder if it would be edited but havent seen it since!
A recent guest was so impressed with the car hire, he mentioned it in his email to me:
"The car hire site recommended on your site turned out to be excellent and even the man at Dollar commented on how comprehensive a package we had bought - he didn't even try to sell us insurance we didn't need!"

We had a guest from Sweden recently who trawled the web looking for a good deal on car hire but couldn't find anything that compared "like for like" with this site. He also commmented when he got home what an excellant service it was.

One of my guests did the same
Here is the paragragh Tony sent regarding car hire
Thank you for the link to http://www.floridahire.com
I was more than pleased with the deal I recieved,as you know we are frequent visitors to Florida. For many years I have been fed up with having to pay extra money at the desk when picking up the car.
As you said no extra to pay.this is the one I will use in the future.
This guy has visited Florida every year for the last ten years, he will have tried many car hire companies
I would say what he wrote, says it all.[clap][clap]

Humble apologies everyone - I really wasn't accusing anybody. Rather than pose my question on the open board then floridadreamvilla would you have any objection to me asking the question privately and if so, how do I do it?
I honestly believe you all when you say that the car hire company recommended on the site is the best but having found comparible prices I just want to be sure before commiting.

We do not have a method of asking a question privately that I can think of. I have to admit to being a bit uneasy about our competitors being discussed on here as I know I would not like it if this situation was reversed, especially if something untrue or unfair was said about them.

OK, I understand what you are saying but I'm not bad-mouthing anybody, merely making a price and condition comparison as anyone would do who was trying to get the best value for their money.
I obviously need to drop this subject.

I know you are not, but once these threads get started then other people join in and things can get said (usually innocently, but they can cause damage to other people's businesses and leave us, as forum owners, in a dubious legal position). That is not somewhere I am prepared to go I'm afraid.
I agree about your comment about dropping the subject - that was what I was trying to subtly say in my earlier posts [msnwink].
If you want to email info@uscarhire.co.uk with the other company website link, we can try and help with a comparison as fairly as possible if that helps you.

It's OK John you didn't have to be subtle you could have just come right out and said it.
Anyway, taken your advice and sent the email and would appreciate a response as and when you can.
regards and end of subject!

Just wanted to let you know John that I wrote to Roger and had some very helpful information from him.
I will now be booking through the site - thanks for the patience everyone with my endless questions.
