Can anyone give any information about this community? We are planning our March 2006 trip, and I notice that the common pool at the location has a lot of bells and whisttes that my boys would enjoy (slides, etc.). But it looks a bit far out from WDW compared to Emerald Island and the 192 communities. Also I worry about construction noise with the very newest communities. Is this a new one?

Any information would be appreciated!

Highland Reserve is lovely and the areas around the 27 are great and well and truly up and coming. A couple of the regulars own there and no doubt will be along later to fill you in more.

We own at Highlands Reserve, but I think you are getting confused between Highlands Reserve and Regal Palms at Highlands Reserve.

Regal Palms is a fairly new development with the lazy river etc. (I am sure someone who owns on Regal Palms will fill you in with more as I have only seen Regal Palms from the outside). There are condos and townhouses on this development and a restaurant, cyber cafe and fitness room I believe. I think construction is completed now on here, but again maybe an owner will confirm. It is right next to Berry Town Centre which has a Publix supermarket, a couple of take-away restaurants and a few other small stores.

Highlands Reserve has villas with private pools but is completely separate from Regal Palms at Highlands Reserve, many of which back on to the stunning golf course, and there is a clubhouse, tennis court and childrens play area. Berry Town Centre is within walking distance too.

It isn't far to WDW from either of these communities - less than 15 minutes drive as there is a short cut!

Hello

Highlands Reserve is located 3 miles south from the 192 and is an easy drive to Disney. It is located on a golf course and there is a communal pool.
Next door is Regal Palms Resort and that is where you will find the communal pool with slide and lazy river. (is this what you mean by bells and whistles?)

A publix supermarket is very close by and the walmart is just pass the junction for the 192.

Highlands Reserve is a really lovely, i would say no more than 10 minutes from WDW, and the golf course is very good too.:)

Thank you for the helpful replies. I had read on another board that folks renting villas at Highlands Reserve were allowed access to the lazy river/fun pool at the adjacent (?) condo development, Regal Palms. That was incorrect?

Jessica

Regal Palms can only be used by guests of Regal Palms and not anyone on Highlands, unless you the homeowner is managed by Superior and has paid an annual fee for the benefit.

Thank you for clarifying that. This is why it is ALWAYS a good idea to double check "received wisdom" on the web!! ;)

Regal Palms have a mixture of 3 and 4 Bedroom Townhouses which are all privately owned. There are no Condos.
If you have any questions regarding the facilities please just ask.

Jessica, I think when Regal Palms first opened they allowed guests from Highlands Reserve to use the facilities, but this was only for a short while because the development wasn't completed, it was off-season too, and therefore the facilities were very quiet. However, it's not the case now, although you can use the restaurant I believe.

Thanks for correcting me re the condos Tina. Don't know why I thought there was a mix as it was a townhouse that Geoff stayed in[msnembarrased]
