I assume all of the new villas are being built on the hwy 27 now?? we are planning a trip in a year (never too early to start!) but we want to miss out disney and most of all, the disney traffic!!

Does anyone know if there is a road from the hwy 27 that goes above disney so that we don't have to drive all the way back to the 192 and around disney??

Sure Annette

There is a new western beltway ringroad (toll) that is nearly complete that skirts West of Disney and ends up at Apopka North of Orlando

Annette

As Chris says there are new roads be done, as we speak. So at the moment, by the time you are due to visit, access could be a lot easier. We are on the highway 27 and can get to disney in about 10 mins or so, with a couple of short cuts,

You can either go south to the I4 area and join there,or just a bit along the beginning of the 192 and take a couple of turning there.

As all the roadworks are being done at the moment, there is a bit of congestion on all routes, but if you plan your timing right you should have no problems.

Hi Annette,
New villas are being built all over the Orlando/Kissimmee area and not just on the 27. There are new communities in the Champions gate area and on Poinciana Blvd plus many other great locations.
Do a search on the above advertising sites, I'm sure you will find some wonderful villas for your holiday.
If you are planning for next year I'd get in quick, I know lots of villas that are booked for most of the peak dates, we have bookings for 2008 already[msnsmile2]
Happy hunting!

That's the beauty of Hway 27 imo, when you want to go to Disney it's convevient but when you don't want to then you can access most areas and avoid the local Disney traffic.

We use mostly the I4, the 27 to go to Tampa or Clermont way (often drive back along the 50 to visit some different shops along there and come back through Orlando.

Depending on where you are on the 27 then CR54 (Ronald Reagan parkway and then pick up the 17/92 if you want to go to the Kissimmee end of the 192, it's slightly longer but avoids all the roadworks on the 192.

Annette,

There are many new developments planned for the 192 and other areas besides the SR27.

There will be a new site on Oren Brown Road (near Walmart / Medievil Times) to be called Bella Vida. Also one one the corner of Poinciana Blvd. and Oren Brown(Crystal Cove?) and a new one
between the 192 and Funie Steed Road called Encantada. All the major builders (and a good few smaller ones too) seem to be clearing land like mad.

So plenty of choice then !! [msnscared]

Is that on the site of Splendid China??

A lot of Splendid China was being cleared when we stayed at Emerald island in March, but i thought it was just for the new beltway?

Annette.

We are on the community of Sandy Ridge and from here you can get to Disney in 10 -15 mins depending on the traffic. This area seems to be where further development will be.

last time I was on the 192 there did seem to be loads of road works and time did take a little longer than normal.

There seems to be new builds poping up all over the place not just the US27, when the new road is built from there it should help travel times from all villas located there.

If you choose a villa on highway 27 close to the I4 - there are somewithin 2 miles going north and South - you can access all Orlando has to offer without having to go near disney. However if you do want to go to disney there is a turn off the I4, prior to the 192 which will take you to all the parks.
I can be on the I4 within a couple of minutes of leaving the villa and then its an easy run either off to Tampa or East towards Orlando.

Annette wherever you choose make sure you ask the villa owner if there are any short cuts or back roads you can use because traffic jams can happen anywhere especially if there is an accident.

Hi Annette,
There are also several communities on the Ronald Reagan Parkway (CR54)which is just off the US27 and you can drive to Disney in about 12 minutes from most of them by using the I - 4. You will find all the communities on the Forum Community map.

Mike and Kath.

Annette is specifically trying to avoid the Disney traffic but there are enough roads around that you dont need to get caught up in it.

No Graham,
From the directions and aerial view it appears to be in between Lindfields and Sunset Lakes and is accessed from Captain Kidd Road (off 192). It's a new Park Square Homes site so will probably follow the Emerald Island/ Lake Berkley & Terra Verde format of pool homes and townhomes with resort facilities like clubhouse, pool etc. [msnsmile2] Just got advance prices on townhomes - £350K to $425K for 4 bed townhomes!! Ouch [msneek]
