Does anyone know if its cheaper to buy SD Memory Cards in Florida than it is in the UK?

We looked at XD (similar to sd card) card the last time we were out and they were cheaper in the US than in the UK.

We've got XD cards too for the camera which we got a really good deal on 2 x 128mb for £17.99 !! at www.mymemory.co.uk
We need the SD card for the camcorder.

Good price for two, just shows you how much cards have come down. The first i bought about 18 months ago cost me £35 for a 128mb one

Picked up a couple of 32 meg XD (holds around 50 pics for £5 each in Asda and an SD 64m (100 pics) for £7 as sometimes its useful to have a couple of smaller cards in case you go to an event or place that you may want to be able to print those all off separately or make sure they dont get lost or something.
Mick bought a 512 meg SD at the Duty free at Dixons a couple of months ago when he went ot Canada and paid around £35. Might have been cheaper over there but he wanted to make sure he had it with him rather than search for somewhere when he got there.
I recently ordered a 512Mb SD card from Amazon, it was £23.99 including vat and delivery. I was looking at them in the USA this June and they varied between $40.00 and $50.00 so not a great deal of difference.
Whenever I look at flash memory there seems only to be a marginal difference between UK and US prices. If you are prepared to shop around for ages and ages in the US you can probably save a few dollars, but ultimately is it worth giving away so much of your holiday time for such a small amount? Far better to buy the cards in the UK and then spend the afternoon on holiday taking photos and shooting video instead. Those few dollars difference will buy a whole load of memories.
I just got back from Florida last weekend.
Memory Cards appear to be pne of the few things more expensive in Florida than the UK. I got a 256Mb Fuji XD card for £17 (DigitalDepot ordered online Mon eve, arrived Wed), which was $54 in Florida (Walmart)
XD are always more expensive than the more common types so the price difference for others may be smaller.
I also took a laptop to download all the images each night.

I just did an online price comparison between DigitalDepot (UK) and Walmart (FL) for a 256Mb XD card. Prices on these are quite fluid due to demand so can change week-to-week.

FL $89.88
Shop around !
