Does anyone know of any miniature dolls houses shops etc in orlando?
as many know we are going there in sept and have a hobby collecting bits and bobs for our dolls houses (my daughter and me) and thought it would be nice to see if we can find some bits in florida, but have tried on google and dont get a lot of help from that
any ideas anyone please?

would prefer to browse around the shops rather then shop online.....[beer]

Hi Leisa

I'm almost certain there is a shop in old town Kissimmee. The same one where they have the Christmas Decorations.

Liesa there was a wonderful toy shop (mostly teddy bears) at Celebration - not sure if you went there. Feel sure they would have something you're after - might have to break the bank though

Fleaworld in Sandford has a few stalls that do an amazing choice of dolls house furniture!

I also have a dolls house and we have looked around the Orlando area on many occasions for furniture etc.
There is a shop in St Cloud - The What Not Shop - where they have a fairly good selection. Address is 1030 New York Avenue, St Cloud.
We have also been to Ron's Miniatures on Colonial Drive. They have a large selection but are fairly expensive. I can dig out the address if you are interested.
If you are travelling further afield then Nancy's in Naples are always advertising in the Dolls House magazines. I have never ventured that far but plan to do on one of our visits. Again, I can look up the address if you are going out that way.
Living almost next door to the main Dolls House Emporium outlet I am a bit spoilt for choice but I tend to opt for the more "one off" items for my house - it may even get finished one day !!

My grandad built me a dolls house when I was a wee girl and I have always been meaning to dig it out! Maybe that can be my next project in 2010 when I have some time on my hands althoough if it half as tiring as the last house I fully furnished I might loose the will.

why not copy the villa, not everything but some ??????????
i cannot believe just how much there is to do with them, but i want to furnish it with some bits as keepsakes from florida!

You must go to Lavender & Lace Leisa. Its a really twee tea rooms with yummy food just off the 27 in Haines City. It has a typical english gift shop with lots of quirly stuff. There are loads of antique shops in the nice village around it. Its well worth a visit! My husband complained & said he wasnt old enough but believe me he is!

Rons Miniatures is the one I have been recommended but haven't got around to going yet. I go to nightschool for Dolls House Miniatures Liesa - it's a great hobby and a lot cheaper than buying the items if you have a nearby college that does the courses.

Let us know how you go on please:)
