Unless you have some special deal almost all flight tickets are not transferable. Have you checked that First Choice will let you do this?

I wasn't able to transfer flights of mine when I tried once because of a visit I couldn't make with First Choice. Can you not check whether your travel insurance will reimburse you instead? If not, can you not see if you can postpone the visit for yourself to a time you could use it?
