My 21 year old plans to go to Florida with some of her friends.

Somebody will have to drive the hire car. [msnscared]

What are the regulations on this ?

Or will they need a Chauffeur ? namely me !!

Your 21 year olds can drive a rental car in Florida but will probably have to pay a supplement of $25 a day with almost every car rental company to do so.

Tell them it'd be cheaper to take you with them for chauffeuring duties! :)

I believe they can hire a car at age 21, but agree they will have to pay a supplement up to the age of 25.

If they are going to drive, make sure they have fully comprehensive CDW on the vehicle. We ourselves always take fully comp insurance, even though we've driven in Florida for years. It is easy to get disoriented on the roads - day or night - and should the vehicle get any damage, you'd be fully covered. A major credit card would also need to be supplied by the driver.

I saw recently a huge ad in the USA Today from one of the major car rental companies saying they are lowering their minimum age rules. I'll look around and see if I can find a link for it.
