I HAVE RECEIVED THIS HOT OFF THE PRESS FOR A TRAVEL INDUSRTY CONTACT...

Are they having a laugh or just trying to kill the travel trade???

Subject: Important Product Information Please read

The British Airports Authority (BAA) have immediately introduced a Transit Passenger Services Charge (PSC or UB Tax)

This will mean that all passengers departing from a Regional airport and transiting through London or Manchester will now be liable for this charge for each time they transit through London or Manchester.

This charge will add an additional £18 -£20 to the Tax for each passenger.

Due to the lack of notice by the BAA or the Airlines we are unable to offer any notice period to allow you the opportunity to pay in full to avoid this increase.

We are in the regrettable position of having to Re - Invoice all bookings that we have not received full payment on with immediate effect and you will shortly receive a new invoice from us

If you have a booking where we have received Cleared funds this increase will not applied

Is that the tax each way Shroom? If so it will add £36-£40 if they go through London or Manchester on both outward and inbound. Not good news for anyone who has to go this way to get decent flights.

But Manchester is not owned by the BAA so I assume it might be exempt from the charge?
