View Full Version : Has anyone been to Denver ???
I may have the chance to take an extended break in Denver in the next couple of weeks.
Has anyone been, any stories to tell or sights that must be seen etc ?
I have the Mile High stadium on my list already, anything else ??

I went there for a short break in the summer of 2000. I think it is worth a visit. We hired a car and went to Aspen,Vale and Boulder which are beautiful. One recommendation, get a 4x4 car as the roads can be very steep. The scenary is breathtaking. I was pregnant at the time with our elder son and found the altitude had its effect making me breathless and light headed occasionally.

Estes Park is a pleasant little town and as the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park you are only minutes away from some stunning scenary.
The airport at Denver is brand new and one of the nicest US airports I have experienced. There are 2 parallel runways and to see another plane landing alongside you is a weird sensation [msneek]
Good call Liz. We flew into Denver a few years ago to get to the rockies and Estes Park was our first stop. It was absolutely beautiful. I think it's about a 30-45 minute drive from Denver.
My only experience of Denver is flying in there to go skiing in Breckenridge etc. It is a lovely airport and it looks great from the outside. Very unusual.
