if it has a cirrus on it yes I believe so.
the best uk card to have is the nationwide though as there are no charges for cash withdrawals abroad.

I've learned something here as well. I knew you could use them at the ATM machine but I wasn't aware that you could pay at the till[msnsmile2]

Apply on line for a Nationwide account
Then use it as you wish you don't incur any charges for the transactions
but one small drawback you will spend more money because you a saving more with no charges
If that makes sense chatter][chatter]

You can make cash withdrawls from the hole in the wall by switch in America, also comes straight out of your Bank too.
With a Nationwide debit card you also get great £ to $ exchange rates to.[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

We use ours (Halifax) too with no problems and have done for years. I think as long as it has the visa or mastercard symbol on it you can use it. Haven't they binned switch and changed to Maestro which should have the visa symbol on it anyway?....Sorry starting to ramble there!
Yes Switch has been dumped for Maestro, but the Halifax (who we also bank with)have and are changing all their Switch to Visa Debit Card so you can use them abroad, so you can purchase in Florida and the money comes straight out of your bank account,
