View Full Version : Live 8
I have just watched Live 8 with Pink Floyd together after 23 years - it was truly amazing[msncool]
We are lucky enough to have a big screen and projector in our lounge with some B & W speakers so the evening was truly awesome[msnwink]
I have to agree we are still watching now in Philadelphia it has been and amazing day with some great perfomances. Paul McCartney and U2 to open Madonna was awesome and Robbie Williams (saw him at Knebworth) born enterainer! Scissor Sisters brill! I wish I was there !

Me too Pamela and Lucy. My Pioneer is shaking the walls with Linkin Park even as I type this.
Robbie was terrific he is such a true showman, and The Who - wow!!![msnsmile2]
Brilliant - Madonna and Robbie, loved them. Turned the volume up so high and sang along with them.
Pink Floyd were awesome - the highlight of the show, for me.

Just when I had got used to Pink Floyd not touring anymore they go and remind me what we are all missing. I have the Pulse Live 'Comfortably Numb' on my ipod and get some funny looks from flight attendants and fellow passengers when I feebly attempt to sing along during flights.
Maybe I need to grow up.
U2 and Coldplay were great. Pink floyd and that guitar were amazing.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, was glued to it from mid afternoon.
The highlights for me were Annie Lennox, Madonna and Robbie Williams they were real showmen(/persons!!)
I was so impressed with The Who, most definately rocking with them. I have to confess that I nodded off during Pink Floyd's contribution though.
A great day, and as Miss Dynamite said, if that number of people were dying daily in the UK, we would certainly have done something about it already.
Let's hope they can agree on something other than throwing money at the problems there.
Pink Floyd, Madonna & Robbie were all fab.
Wish Greenday were playing London as they are just brilliant at the moment.

I should have been there [msnsad]
My hubby entered a competition on Sky last week. We had a card posted through on Friday with a special delivery item to collect from the delivery office. We werent expecting anything so didn't go to collect it till late on saturday morning & it was only 2 tickets to live 8 - he had won!! i was gutted!!! I would love to have gone.
I had to make do with the live coverage where hubby kept consoling me & saying it was a better view than what we would have got!!!

We watched most of it and have to say we enjoyed U2, Coldplay, Elton John, Robbie, and Madonna. One of the greatest concerts i have seen apart from the original Live Aid. Dont know much about Pink Floyd other than another brick in the wall which they didnt do.
Bon Jovi were good on the American part.
IMO Dido was by far the worst act on the day that i saw.

We went to a bbq in my neighbours. They had put the tv out in the garden. By the end of the night we were all very merry, had sore throats from all the singing. I thought Robbie,Annie Lennox,Coldplay,Scissor Sisters, REM and Keane were fantastic. I would have sooo like to have gone.[msnsmile2]
