Can anyone tell me is the perfume cheaper in duty free in the U.K. or in duty free in Florida?

You might find that there is better value for money to be had in a shopping mall rather than US duty free, especially with the current exchange rate.

Do make sure that you compare like with like though as sometimes the products are sized differently for the US domestic market than they are for the export duty free market.

We have never found the duty free to be cheap coming back from Florida, but it always seems to be on the way out.

Has snapper says, try the shopping malls for some great offers!

Try the outlet Malls rather than Malls at Millenia or the Florida Mall, we looked at perfume at Malls of Millennia in March and it was more expensive than in Boots in the Trafford Centre. We did get some bargains though on gift sets at the Ralph Lauren store at the Premium Outlet Mall. It cost far less for perfume and body lotion or shower gel than it would have for the perfume alone back home ("Ralph" and "Romance") I suppose it all depends on which perfumes you are looking for and which stores you look in.
We usually buy most of our perfumes and aftershaves at Manchester duty freem mainly because it's cheaper than the high street but I don't have to spend valuable holiday time comparing prices when we are in Florida.

To be honest with you, once you add the tax, some goods (perfume) don't seem any cheaper.

yes the exchange rate is good at the mo, but I would see how much it is in UK and duty free on the plane and compare. You can buy when you land at most airports if worst comes to worst.

Electrical (MP3 etc) seems cheaper in the US.

I think Duty free in the UK on the way out is not the best option. We have had some good deals in the Malls om perfume and aftershave.
