Hi all :)

Just noticed a bit on the Busch website that says that no coolers, food or drinks may be taken into the park, anyone know if this is enforced or can the kids take lunchpacks and bottled water etc.??

It is enforced - we were told it is to protect the animals. They are very fussy about what type of food/drink containers are used in the parks. No plastic bottles, no lids on drink cups etc in case the animals get hold of them and eat them.

We have had the tops taken off our McDonalds Milkshakes at the entrance, along with all our straws confiscated! We were allowed to take them in though, but i guess we were on the way to finishing them rather than taking in a fully fledged picnic!

theres nothing to stop you leaving the cooler in the car and coming out during the day if you're driving. as for the childrens drinks, they can't object to the souvenir type cups with drink in, as we have bought them in busch gardens before.

What we tended to do having bought the cheapest $4 polystyrene cooler from Wal Mart) was freeze water and juice overnight then take them in the cooler, leave it in the boot (sorry - trunk!!) and the drinks slowly defrosted during the day, they were then very cold when we got back to the car - very refreshing after a long hot day in the park!! You don't even need the 'freeze' packs (although we bought them for the cold cans of pop - sorry soda!!) Can't claim this as my own tip as it was a great tip from someone on here and it works a treat - thank you!!:D:D
We did find that most of the parks (including BG) were fine with bottled water (as long as it was sealed - unopened) but did see people having to return to vehicles with prohibited products.
