Gerry, if you have never taken the children before then you may not believe me when I say, it doesn't matter how fussy they are , there will be lots of thing which they like. There is such an abundance of food of every type and such a willingness on the part of resatarants over there to help, thye will be fine.

If you try some of the all you can eat buffets then I'm sure you will find plenty the children will eat, Golden Corral do fresh baked pizzas to steak for instance and because the children can go and choose as they want they can try a bit of each.
My guests at present have found the buffets cater really well for the 2 children in their party an 11 year old diabetic boy and a very fussy 9 year old girl but who they said has not stopped eating siince they got there but at home it is a struggle to get her to eat much at all.

We have taken
Crisps (Tayto for the irish folk)
Cereal out of its cardboard box (because my sister swears it taste different!!)
Bread, (two or three loaves which are frozen on arrival, becuse my mother says US ones are too sweet)
Tea bags (again cause Mother says its different)
Cadburys Chocs (just for the hell of it)
Once its not meat or dairy products we have not been stopped, we were asked by costoms once if we had food and we said "yea crisps" after a funny look, I said like potatoe chips! not problems!

As others have said, I very much doubt that you will have any problems finding suitable food for the children in the U.S.
The only problem we had with one of ours, several years ago, was that she refused to eat any meals out in restaurants. She was quite young at the time (about 5 or 6) and we couldn't understand what the problem was at first. We later discovered that she was put off by the quantities of food some people piled onto their plates!!

If you shop at Publix or Walmart you can get a lot of the same food there too. I have a "fussy husband" and believe me it can be a nigntmare at times.
When you say fussy what do you mean exactly?[msnwink]

i dont believe your kids could be fussier then mine!!!
when we eat out if they dont like what is on offer they simply have cheesey chips!!!
and then no moaning from them!!!
I believe that my children are the fussiest eaters ever but even they have no real problems in Orlando. Enjoy your trip!
I went on a walking trip to california a few years ago and we had all our food taken off us apart from the tinned food.
At the time we had the foot and mouth situation, so don't know if they have relaxed or not. We had a lot of pre made hiking food in sealed bags.
Like others say, if they can't find something in the all you can eat buffet then there is something wrong.

We used to have this problem with out eldest.
He is still awkward - Not fussy! But not as bad!
So if they have not got what he likes he waits until we find somewhere for him to eat!
The twins will eat almost anything, and tell you when they have had enough!

Our younger son on his first trip to Florida refused to eat at all everywhere we went, te only thing he would eat we toast with tomato sauce on (Ketchup to our US friends) and choc chip cookies. He was a nightmare to take out, we think it was the portion sizes that put him off too. But he survived on his toast and cookies and was perfectly happy. Now he will eat most things and his favourite thing is steak, so a bit more expensive to take with us now.[msnoo][msnsmile2]
Even our youngests passion for gravy with everything is satisfied at Golden Corral they have beef and poultry gravy. Publix have a british food section but there are restaurants serving absolutely every type of food imaginable noone could go hungry here

I do understand what you are saying by 'fussy', but once the kids are there, they will be so wrapped up with everythhing they probably won't even notice what they are eating.
We always found that a good breakfast, whether in the villa or all you can eat buffet was enough for them until early evening - with snacks of fruit or crisps throughout the day. They had burnt off so much energy through the day they ate all different sorts of food for dinner as they were so hungry.
It's funny with kids too, when our son was little he was very fussy but when we went abroad he suddenly wanted to try all kinds of things.
I think everybody has covered the subject to a tee above. We have two children they are 4 & 6 we used to have a breakfast at the vila or in a restaurant accompanied by a Milkshake and we only had a few snacks like people have mentioned above and that kept them going all day.
They are so eager to get to the parks and they don't want to come out that they forget all about food, plus it also gets quite hot at lunchtime depending when you travel. BUT don't forget the water or other drinks. We did find they drank more than normal.
Have a great trip and try not to worry about the food.

Our son adores IHOP chocolate chip pancakes (not the healthiest of diets)He even told the waitress how he would miss them when he went home!Perhaps he'll open one up in Britain when he's older! [laugh]
My kids were both very fussy eaters, one still is, I just think that if you are only ther for 2 or 3 weeks, just let them have what they will eat ie. chips, burgers or whatever, there will be something they like even if it not very healthy. You can get them back onto a more healthy option when you get back. You are on holiday so don't let eating stress you out.[msntongue]
Have to agree with all the comments above don`t worry about your childs fads and fancies my 13 year old is still a nightmare when it comes to eating for example buger and chips for breakfast at Denny`s long donut type thing (Chorio I think )for lunch at the parks and burger and chips in the evening every now and again he will shake the menu up and have chicken nuggets and chips he says he like to live on the edge lol.
Golden Coral is a great option as it is a good price and they can have a plate full of peas if thats what keeps them happy.
I do worry sometimes about the quality of his diet when we are away but there are so many great supermakets and the fruit and veg is lovely over there I`m sure you could sneak an apple or bannana in there somewhere
it is ihop strawberry milkshakes for me. love them, dont need any food for lunch, as the milkshake fills me up. barbara
