BMI have been forced to temporarily suspend its codeshare arrangement with Star Alliance partner carrier United Airlines on its Manchester-Washington route after replacing its own Airbus on the service with Boeing 757-20B TF-FII damp leased from Loftleidir Icelandic. The agreement should be reintroduced later this year after US authorities complete a technical audit of the Icelandic carrier.

Interesting???

We did this route a few weeks ago. We were actually booked under the United Flight code and were not told of that BMI had changed plane type until we were actually on the plane coming back from Washington.
Would never use this route again with this type of plane. We were doing this route at Christmas but have changed to the Chicago route just in case they dont get the plane sorted before we fly. They did tell us the new plane would be ready end October 2005.

According to an article in the Independent the Airbus is now flying London-Mumbai. The FlyBMI website indicates an Airbus MAN-IAD from October but apparently BMI are saying the 757 will stay on the route.
