We got a quote off these, but then tried the money supermarket and they bet them. Better cover too.
Both reasonably priced though.

Just had a look, the company is clubdirect.com through the money supermarket.

As always, make sure you read all terms and conditions and that the cover is adequate for your own needs.

Try costout.co.uk Annual multi trip up to 5 children £75

Direct Travel insurance is who I use. We have an Annual Multi Trip Policy including winter sports for family of four and it cost £99.00, and that includes the insurance premium tax that you have to pay. The good thing about this policy is that we can travel independently, which makes it good value for money. Check out www.direct-travel.co.uk

We also used diret-travel and found them very good. You can set up the policy on line and it's very quick and easy to use. Underwritten by AXA.

Me too I am with direct travel and have been for years every fw years I try to get a quote from someone else but then I go back to them and like someone said you can travel independantly as well.

Good luck

I bank with Lloyds and get annual insurance free. If anyone thinks the cover is insufficient with this kind of policy, do tell please.

Halifax seems very expensive compared to direct-travel, will have to do some digging.

Yes I know that's true Blott, it's just laziness on my part, I have read the policy and it seems adequate, It's dificult to know what to compare it against. I suppose I should enquire then..[msnsad]

Hi

we have used direct-travel.co.uk and for an annual worldwide policy with NO winter sports cover it came to just under £70 for 2 adults and 2 children

hope this helps

Hi Paul.

We've had the Lloyds Platinum insurance for a number of years now. There was one occasion when we had to cancel the trip for health reasons and there was no problem in getting a refund of the money paid - minus the excess of course! Having waded through most of the small print
Im quite satisfied with the cover, and it's saved us quite a lot over the years.[msnsmile2]

Thanks Kevin, I've had it for many years but never had to claim until a few months ago, lost a new digital camera in Barcelona. They first tried to wriggle out of it but to be fair, I sent a snotty letter to them and they paid up so can't complain really. Yes I've checked it too and as I said it seems fine but I think I'll find another policy to compare it with, you never know.[msnwink]

I'll let you know.

Very good advice, cheap is often not the best or the only thing to consider, you get what you pay for[msnwink][msnwink]

And in the US the time you DON'T want to find out you're under insured is if you need to claim, especially where medical cover is concerned.

There aren't that many insurance companies that cover just minors. I've DM'd you a couple which I can't post.

No Julie, they haven't. On our family one, my husband and I can use it without the kids but they can't use it without us. So I don't think that would work.
Thanks for trying, and thanks Blott for the info. I've got a couple of quotes that I can pass on to her.:)

The direct travel on which has been metnioned allows children to travel alone, for up to 21 days, so it may be worth her family getting an annual policy with them or their rates seem to be ok for single trip policies.

I also have "free" insurance with Lloyds. This year we had to cancel our holiday the day before departure, due to my Mother being critically ill. The insurance company ,Genworth, were excellent. Our claim was paid in full within 3 weeks of submission.

Thanks, erm, sneaky? (doesn't seem right that somehow[laugh].

Yes It was Genworth I dealt with for my camera claim, and although at first they questioned my claim, I sent a letter and they paid up very quickly. I can't fault their efficiency, they respond very quickly. I have checked another well known insurance product and Lloyds does compare favourably, and it's free, so wehaaaay![msnsmile2]

I'm happier for checking now, thanks for posting it Terry it's good to know that you're covered especially when things go wrong like they did for your Mom Sneaks. I Hope she's ok?

Noticed an advert on TV last night heralding a "brand new and exciting" (think it was Barclays?) bank account with "free road side recovery and travel insurance" Looks like the bandwagon is on the roll !! [msnwink]

Maybe they decided Lloyds had a good idea after all ? [msnsmile2]

It's getting worse, Egg want a £129. Cheapest so far is Travsure at £60-90, at the moment that looks an absolute bargain.

Thanks for the kind words Macka. Unfortunately my Mum didn't pull through but a lot of additional stress and worry was saved by the prompt response of the insurance company. The only true test of insurance is when you need to claim. Thanks to Genworth we were able to book again for next year, less than eight months to go.

We have been with Tesco's now for 5 years on annual cover. My FIL came with us one year, they also have Tesco's and he unfortunately got hospitalised with Pnemonia, and Tesco's was brilliant with the costs.

And one added benefit to us. If you collect the club card points, you can claim back the cost of the cover with your points, So we get the insurance free every year.
