A stone's throw away from downtown Mount Dorais a large building specializing in a delectable Danish treat called a kringle. Introduced in the U.S. back in the 1800s by Danish immigrants, this piquant pastry is created by rolling and folding butter-drenched dough until it's flat and layered. Then it's stuffed with a delicious filling of your choice - cheese, apple, raspberry, almond, pecan, etc. - folded once more into an oval and baked in one of their stainless steel ovens. Each soft and flaky confection is then topped off with enough icing to sweeten each tooth of Kris Kringle himself.
Those of you lucky enough to live in Central Florida can visit their bakery and sample fresh, hot kringles along with a complimentary cup of coffee, or purchase their concoctions at any local-area Albertson's grocery stores. They also sell pies, cookies and 15 varieties of fudge.
