A hidden gem ( most Floridians have never been there) and a lovely place for a picnic or a chill out and unwind day after the theme parks. It is situated off 27 south of Haines. Am not sure of the number of the road you turn up but it doesnt matter as you can see it from miles away so just follow your nose.It is one of the highest points in Florida and they say the hill wss once an island when Florida was covered in water. The tower on top has a carillon which chimes at regular intervals throughout the day and there are also lovely tranquil gardens, a nature reserve, a museum and film on the tower and the life of its builder, a cafe and a gift shop. And its only a couple of bucks so its a cheap day out. You can combine it with a visit to Lake Wales and if you are feeling flush, a meal at the nearby Chalet SUZANNE, a posh European style eating house with European style prices to match.

Obviously not to be confused with the Citrus Tower at Clermont-which I did!

Has anyone tried this!

Will certainly give the Bok Tower a try though!
