I know this has been asked before and having checked previous threads, most of them were posted in 2004. I was wondering if anybody has recently booked for one of the character dining experiences and if so which one would you recommend? Believe it or not but my daughter who will be 20 when we are away wants to have a character meal as one of her birthday treats.
You can have them at all meals, if going for breakfast I would recommend 'Chef Mickeys' at the Contemporey hotel, for a lunch Crystal Palace in MK.
Not all characters are available at all locations, if there is someone special you want at the meal,you are best checking the programme guides to see who is at which location.
Also if it is a public holiday,make sure you book early to avoid dissapointment as the seating goes quick.

We've done lunch at the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh, and just recently did Cinderella dinner at the Grand Floridian. Both were great. If you know when you are going, I would book now, even if its not a holiday. We booked the Cinderella dinner about 6 weeks in advance and still had trouble getting reservations, and this was not during a peak time.
We did the breakfast with Mickey at Ohana Restaurant, Polynesian Resort and that was very good. The theme was Haiwaian so the characters came out with rafia skirts and the food was great.
At the end of it all the 'kids' ('kids' ages ranged from 0 to over 40 [msnwink]) joined in a music and dance round the perimeter of the restaurant. It was fun for all - highly recommended.

For a twenty year old I would recommend going to the Grand Floridian for your evening meal, Prince Charming will be there. It costs about $28 per adult and is classed as a Gala Buffet. Afterwards, go outside, or stand on one of the balconies, to watch the electrical water pageant.
The water pageant goes by at 9-15 so book your meal in time to have finished by then.
Then you can go back inside and enjoy the bar and music.
my family would always choose crystal palace at MK ( girls not quite as old as yours but nearly !
Book as soon as you can - up to 6 months ahead can be reserved from the uk - disney reservations number is on the web site

Yep we have done the Beach Club Character Breakfast. Fantastic, Goofy as always was the star, even had a surprize visit from Minnie Mouse, which put a huge smile over my youngest daughters face. It her favorite character.
Don't you just love the American Crispy Bacon.
We've had breakfast at the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and breafast at the diner in MGM studios with Minnie and friends. My favourite of the two was MGM studios. Minnie and Goofy do a dance and they circulated better than the characters at Crystal Palace for the children (and adults!) to meet and be photographed. It was also fun to see them dance and perform. Everyone left very happy!

we did Crystal Palace last friday night. This was a treat for the end of our holiday. We were in MK in the morning and Phil went to check to see what was avaliable and they gave us a table for 9pm that night. It was great we had done the breakfast there 2 years ago too.Dinner was great on friday even at 9pm,buffet you couldnt fault (i can just taste the beef which fell apart on my plate). As we finished Pooh opened the door to let us out and we were then in a great spot to watch Whishes . Great end to our 3 weeeks.
