They are both very close to one another, within walking distance. They both belong to Universal. You need to park in the multi carpark for Universal Studios and then use the walk ways, once you get to City Walk, you either go straight on for IOA or you turn right for Universal Studios.

Don't worry - we all get confused at some point.

Yes they are very close to each other, and no they are not the same park. They are joined by city walk where there are lots of shops and restaurents.

Hope this helps.

Diane.

Hiya Fairy Cakes and welcome to the forum!
No, of course we won't laugh! There is never a silly question where Florida is concerned!
Universal and IOA are right next door to each other. You park in the car park, co along a moving walk way and into a central area with shops, cinemas, restaurants etc etc. Then you can turn left or right and choose either Universal or IOA. So two theme parks, on one site I suppose! When are you going?

Oh right i see, thanks!

Also ,is is possible to do both in one day without rushing?

I am so worried that i have booked in too much to do! We are only planning one week in orlando with the second week in either Miami or Clearwater and i have already booked seven themeparks! Whoops!

Wow you are going to be busy, sounds like you will need the second week to get over the first.[msnoo][msnsmile2] You might find you are pushing it to get round that many parks day after day but sounds like you are planning to make the most of your trip.[msnsmile2]

Well someone will be busy! check out the park opening times and try do 2 parks in one day you will be doing a 9am to 10 pm slot!!! Try go online and plan in advance what you want to do from the online maps...but most of all don't worry about not doing it all cause you will still have fun!!

Fairy_Cakes,
Wow!! Looks like you will definately need that time at the beach to recover!![msnsmile2] One thing you could consider is if you choose to stay at Clearwater your second week you could go to Busch Gardens then. It's closer than Orlando and easy to get to. Also if you find that you are going to struggle to visit all those parks on different days, you could visit more than one park in one day. I would say you will want to visit MK for a whole day but you could for example visit MGM first thing in the morning and stay till early afternoon and hop across to EPCOT for the remainder of the day taking in the excellent "illuminations" at 9pm. Treat those two parks as a sampler and discover them in more detail next visit, and you will go again![msnwink]

Hi Fairycakes,

It depends where you are staying. In 2001 we stayed the last 3 days of our hols in Hard Rock Hotel after returing from Clearwater. Staying in HR we were able to use our room card keys to get fast pass on every ride with no time restriction and this enabled us to do both parks in the one day comfortably, last year we were there with our 20 month old son and hadn't a hope in hell.

Ps You'll love Discovery Cove twilight, we've now done both and the evening one was unbelievable.

Your itinerary looks good to me.

I love Universal as it is all in the same place and has a great big food court in the middle. (Yum Yum).

A few weeks ago we had a one day two park Ticket for Universal Studios/IOA....it was a bit of a rush...and I found that they were closing places to get food and a drink way to early for my liking..... my husband will never have it that Universal Studios/IOA..are two different parks.....and he's been there loads of times.....so its not a silly question.......

To be honest, I know I wouldn't want to do it that way now...but...my first visit was as packed as yours, I think the view was then, once in a life time, except there was no IOA, but we did Kennedy instead!!
I think you will be shattered, but the excitement of it all will keep you going[msnsmile2]You will love it, and probably think to yourself, I must do it again, a bit more leisurely:D

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help with planning a vacation. I am looking at going to Orlando in July with my husband and two daughters ages 14 and 16. I would like to either rent a Condo or get a two bedroom suite at a price for around 1000 for the week. Any suggestions?

There are some nice townhouses for rent on this site.....they could be within your budget.....go to the top of the page where it says Orlando Villas · Florida Villas · Orlando Vacation Homes ...and have a look...a lot of places book up early...July is not far away.....I would look at 3 bed villas too.....telling them your budget.....

Hi LynnO, welcome to the forum, you won't go far wrong by renting a villa from one of the sites attached to this forum. For your budget you should be able to afford a nice villa, put in an enquiry and I am sure you will get some great replies.[msnsmile2]

Going to Universal for the first time in July, after 4 visits. This is why I love Orlando so much to do. Prefect for going again and again and again.:D:D

You will be one busy family, but will love every minute of it, we did just the same on our first trip to the States, at that time the girls were 7 and 4 and we thought it would just be the one trip, however loved it so much have been back several times and have now bought a villa over there, so certainly did not put us off, however I did need to see a chiropodist when I got home.

We did all the theme parks you list except IOA, but we took three weeks to do them. We still felt we had missed out parts and just had to return to do them at a more sedate pace. We are now looking forward to our 7th visit and know we will still find new things to do and to see.

Have a great time and let us know how you get on.

Jeff
