Good news for all who go from Manchester via Chicago or Washington[msnwink]

night before check-in

Night before check-in is a fantastic new service from bmi which gives you an opportunity to check-in for your long haul flight the evening before you fly.
Our long haul check-in service at Manchester airport is now open between 19:00 and 22:00hrs at the bmi check-in desk 59 in Terminal 1.
If you live within easy driving distance from Manchester airport or you are staying overnight at a nearby hotel you can check in all your luggage and collect your boarding pass the evening prior to departure.
all members of your family or group must be present with tickets and passports
you must check-in all your bags, if you need to check in any additional baggage on the day of departure you will have to join the check in queue again!
once you have checked in you will need to leave local contact number where you will be staying overnight
arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to departure and proceed straight to the gate allocated for your flight

My husband used this facility last night for the Chicago flight today and I must say it was so much better than checking in this morning.

We got to the airport last night at 7pm, the terminal was very quiet and there were only 3 people in the que at the BMI desk. All done in 15 mins.

Got to the airport this morning and it was mega busy and the BMI que was huge, but all hubby had to do was take a gentle walk straight to the gate[msnwink]

We went to St Lucia with BMI this year and used the night before check-in service. It was excellent and meant we could just turn up at the airport 1 hour before the flight in the morning.

It has been around for quite a long time but seems very poorly advertised and therefore not too many people seem to take them up on it. We were one of 3 couples as they opened up at 7pm and that was for 3 flights (St Lucia, Washington and Chicago)

Cheers

Mr E.
