'Pal Mickey' is a talking Mickey Mouse that can recommend theme park attractions, remind you about parades and show times, share stories, play games and help locate Disney characters in the parks. The interactive toy will rent for $8 per day plus tax and a refundable deposit. It can also be purchased for $46.94 plus tax.

Pal Mickey will be offered at certain locations in Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting in May.

Seems like this toy is really a waste of money wouldnt you think reading what time shows on a map would be better than holding this Mickey doll right at your ear since the volume of the thing is so low peopel think your haveing an affair with it.

Any more opinions about Pal Mickey, as I was considering as a Christmas Wish, but don't want to do that if it is not very good. Would appreciate opinions of people that have bought/rented one.

Many thanks,

Euan

Tink, did you see people using them or just a lot of unsold Pal Mickeys ?

Just can't see the attraction (apart from the novelty/gadget value) of paying for a toy to guide you around the park when they give maps out for free !!

Exactly, no I saw people listening to them! but, I did notice that all the people listening to them were adults! No kids playing along!! Disney aren't stupid are they?!?!

We got one the other year and it is great, it tells you a lot more than what is in the maps and guide, when you are walking round it shakes to let you know you are passing an area where there is somthing you might not have seen.
Also he keeps the kids quiet with his endless supply of jokes whislt you are in the lines for the rides.
If you are still sceptical you can rent one for a day instead of buying one.
We would really recommend them even to seasoned visitors.[msnsmile]

Does this work in all disney parks or are there seperate memory cards for each park[?] sounds like something a two yr old would enjoy.

It will work in all the Disney parks and even at Downtown.
The kids can carry on using it when they get home as there are 3 disney quiz type games built into him.
Even though it initially seems expensive you can use it time and time again, he automatically updates to the season when you enter the parks.:)

I obviously have more money than sense (not difficult) I read about these the other day and thought I just have to have one, whether it helps me round the parks or not, i thought it would make a good souvenir

So if changes season, I assume that if you buy one this time, you could use it on your next trip? perhaps they will have come up with something better and more expensive!!

We have used him on the last 3 trip, and he his here at the moment with us, just have him turned on when you enter the park on your next trip and he automatically updates.
