Simple answer - yes!

The US is ahead of us with CHIP & PIN terminals, so make certain you get a reminder of yoru PIN number before you go if you need to.

Im afraid our credit card works fine in USA. As Andy says make sure you know your pin number as they are far more advanced than us on the 'chip & pin'.:)

We use credit cards all the time in Florida but never got asked to chip and pin once.

Tried to chip and pin last year and wouldn't work with our UK debit card. Didn't matter though, they just swiped it as normal and we signed on the dotted line.

This will be the 1st time I have had a pin, never had any trouble as Sara & Paul said they just swipe & sign.

If you are somewhere like Wal Mart, you can swipe your card and enter your pin whilst the goods are still being scanned! Never had any problems, although it is a good idea to keep some form of photo ID with you for credit cards, never been asked for ID with a debit card though!

Happy shopping!!!![msnwink]

My mum thought it was great on our last trip over - they kept asking at check outs if she wanted cash back. She didn't quite get the hang of it though, she came back with more dollars than she went with (unfortunately a big credit card bill too!!:D:D:D

I live here and have no idea what chip and pin is......[?][?]

It sounds like something you get from the chippie.......

We also found at Christmas in some places they had machines where you sign a screen bit like an Etch a Sketch. My signature never looks correct using this method - hubby wishes they would say 'sorry madam we are unable to verify the signature to the card so cannot accept your transaction'. Unfortunately for him it always goes through.

Chrizzy the chip in in the card and the pin number is instead of your signature[msnwink]
