Hi

My daughter is eager to know if Chanel have a shop in Florida?

She's an art student and has studied the work of Coco Chanel, unfortunately, her studying has given her an unhealthy interest in the very EXPENSIVE designer wear, and she has been eager to purchase some accessories.

If they don't have a shop, perhaps they may sell some goods in other shops?

Thanks

Thanks, she'll be ecstatic.

She saved all her holiday spending money last year to visit the Chanel shop in Cannes, and it was closed!!!

It's her birthday next week, and she's already saying she's saving to spend all her money in September.

I am also a Chanel fan, they only sell in their boutiques and licensed stores which is why you can buy their perfume and makeup in some stores and not others. My favourite perfume is Coco and I have been wearing it for 22 years and nothing comes close for me.

The store at Mall of Millenia is not so good, it always seems quite empty when I go in. In the store I use at home they give you champagne when you go in and fuss around you but I have not experienced that in the US. She will also be seduced by Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, to name but some of the upmarket stores in the Mall also.

Thanks everybody

My daughter is a real devotee.

She's been to New Bond St in London, wears all their make up and perfume.

I wanted her to wait to buy her sunglasses in Florida, but she's already been and got them.

As I said in a previous post, she was really looking forward to visiting in Cannes, but unfortunately the shop was closed whilst we were visiting.

Her holiday highlights are locating and visiting the Chanel Shops

Chanel sunglasses are more expensive in Florida than here as are the cosmetics etc, however you do get some colours and products that are only produced for the US market. They also seem to launch new products there earlier than in Europe.

Some of the real designer goods from a proper shop rather than an outlet store are dearer than in Europe or at least as dear. The outlet stores in places like Premium Outlets have things in which havent sold well or are last seasons and are cheaper. No Chanel but they do have Versace etc.

Both my daughters bought a pair of the latest Chanel sunglasses last year in Florida and they saved £75.00 each they paid £175.00 instead of the £250.00 they would have paid in the UK. The glasses were bought from an authorised dealer who told us that the same glasses were selling in Miami for £300.00.
We did bargain with him for a better deal as we were buying 3 pairs of glasses and when your spending that sort of money it's worth asking for some discount.

I got my latest pair of Chanel sunglasses in Harvey Nics in Manchester, pink tinted with the diamante CC. They are useless in the sun though, just look good. They were 150 pounds, I only bought them in UK as they did not have them in the boutique last time we were in Orlando.

The only shop that I think is a wee bit cheaper and only because of the dollar rate possibly is Louis Vuitton oh and Jimmy Choo is cheaper. Gucci is as expensive and I think Chanel is the same. I bought a pair of Gucci high sandals and they were $800, the equiv in pounds was roughly what they were seling for in Gucci in Selfridges in Manchester and about the same in Euros in Dusseldorf. (Just waiting for the ocassion to wear them as I have just bought the bag to match...hiding it from Mr CDV. Problem is when I first met him I coud fib about how much things cost, but since he buys me something along those lines for Birthdays and Xmas he now knows how much they cost. He nearly had a heart attack when he bought me his first Louis Vuitton bag..bless him).

Most of the designers don't sell in the designer outlets......:(. The Versace one is ok, but I find the lable very garish, although they have some god shoes in there. There is also a Boss one for the guys, which is not bad.

I too only wear Chanel makeup and find the best place to get it is the airport.[msneek]

Oh only just over 2 weeks to go, all this yapping about shopping has put me in the mood![clap][clap]

Sounds like HN in Manchester is an improvement on the one in Leeds!

I've always found Manchester airport a bit disappointing, but I'll keep my fingers crossed this time.

We might just have to go a day early to visit HN in Manchester

;).
