Disney has announced their 2003 Star Wars weekend schedule and there is good news for Star Wars Fans this year. Traditionally the month of May has featured different Star Wars events each weekend of the month. This year MGM is starting the week-ends in Mid May and extending the celebration into June as well.

Disney will be celebrating on the following weekends:
May 16 – 18
May 23 – 25
May 30 – June 1
June 6 - June 8
June 13 – June 15

Scheduled events will include:

Star Wars Weekend 2003There will be special appearances from Star Wars characters, that will be roaming the park greeting guests and taking photos with true Star Wars fans each weekend.

Look for behind the scenes information that lets guests look into the making of all the Saga films and hints about Episode III from Lucas Films.

Star Wars Characters will be joining Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia each day in the Disney Stars and Motorcars Parade.

Star Wars Weekend 2003 Anthony Daniels, who starred as C-3PO in all five films, will kickoff the lineup of Star Wars legends, during the opening weekend May 16-18, 2003.
Also featured at the five-week fan-fest are Wookiees, Jawas and Ewoks.This will be one of the largest gatherings of characters from the Star Wars films. Stars like Queen Amidala and Darth Vader , Chewbacca and Greedo will be strolling the Disney-MGM Studios greeting guests, signing autographs and posing for photographs. New this year will be : special appearances by characters from Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,including Zam Wessel and Jango Fett.

Galactic Game Show
A special editions of the popular game show attraction 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire--Play It!' will be presented, with a variety of Star Wars-inspired questions. Look for surprise appearances by Star Wars film characters to be happening during the month long event.

Star Wars Trivia
Interactive, Interstellar Fun will be going on with the Star Wars trivia contests and games that will be held near the Star Tours attraction. Guests will be tested for film knowledge and trivia. In addition, a special Video Starcade will feature the best in Star Wars-inspired electronic games.

Obi-Wanna-Be
Throughout the day, several lucky youngsters will be chosen to take part in the 'Jedi Training Academy,' giving Jedi hopefuls the chance to learn moves with a light saber, then test their skills against Darth Vader himself.

A Galaxy of Collectibles
Disney and Lucasfilm, Ltd. have created an event-exclusive Star Wars merchandise area from trading pins (including a special boxed set) and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions and other
limited-edition items that will be available in Tatooine Traders at the Star Tours area. The retail location is adjacent to the Ewok Village set at the Star Tours attraction.

Face painting of favorite Star Wars characters will be available to guests during the weekend.

That looks brilliant. Shame we have already taken the kids out of school for their 2 weeks already!
David is a complete star wars fan. His bedroom wallpaper is the original star wars stuff. It even has the date on it (I think its 1977 or 78). When we moved in I wanted to redecorate it to be the nursery but Paul wouldn't let me!

My 26 year old daughter is the biggest fan ever. She must have seen the original films 100s of times. She will be gutted to have missed this.
