Today Monday 4th of April 2005 i am off to Busch Gardens for the very first time and being a Lover of Thrill Rides and Animals i am really looking forward to this park.
After a drive of approx 75 minutes from Orlando we are there and ready to enjoy all that awaits us on another Beautiful hot and sunny day.
As we enter we are in Morroco but no time to waste so we head left for the giant wooden roller coaster Gwazi which you can see below.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415122550_GWAZI2.jpg
This is the largest wooden roller coaster in Florida and reaches speeds of up to 50mph.

Similar to Duelling Dragons in the respect that there are 2 seperate tracks with both being different from one another.
This ride was great fun and worth the 25 minute wait which would have been shorter but for one of the tracks being closed due to a fault.

After departing Gwazi we head west to the Bird Gardens.
One of the lovely birds that were just walking around this area.

A few of the many parrots you can see here.

Another nice bird just mingling with the people.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415124155_FLAMINGOS.jpg
Loads of beautiful Flamingos to be seen at various places in this park.

A closer look at a Flamingo.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/20054151408_TORTOISE.jpg
Just another of the many creatures that you will see on your journey around Busch Gardens.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415124422_EAGLES.jpg
A couple of Eagles i think,just chilling.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415124645_EAGLEFLOWERS.jpg
Lots of amazing flower displays you will also see and this great park.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415124749_BUTTERFLFLOWERS.jpg
Another spectacular butterfly flower arrangement.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415125046_TREE.jpg
A few more birds just going about their daily routines.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415125217_SHEIKRA1.jpg
After leaving the bird gardens we pass through Stanleyville where we see the soon to be opened SHEIKRAI roller coaster that looks very exciting.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/2005415125250_SHEIKRA2.jpg
Its opening in May 2005 so i just missed it by a few weeks but i will be back for sure to ride this 70mph monster which will be the tallest coaster in Florida at 200 feet and one of the longest anywhere at around 3 minutes in duration.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/200541513129_STANLEYFALLS.jpg
One of the 3 water based rides here is this one called Stanley Falls Log Plume.
Alas i never managed to ride any of them as i just ran out of time so again i will be back and next time i will get wet.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/200541513327_PYTHON.jpg
Time to enter the Congo where there are two coasters with the first the yellow beast known as Python.
Well ok its not exactly a beast,in fact its the tamest and shortest coaster at Busch, but is a good start for those who want to build up their courage up for the bigger faster ones to follow.

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/ORLANDO_MAGIC/200541513712_KUMBA1.jpg
Ok so here we have one of the best coasters in Florida and my first sight of Kumba.

Absolutely super photos John. It looks fabulous - not sure bout that new ride though [msnoo]

I've never been to Busch Gardens before either on my previous trips but its a definate must for this years trip! Do you think it would be worth investing in a 5 park flex-ticket and going twice (seeing as you didn't have enough time to do everything?) We were planning on going and stopping overnight in a hotel close by for the evening and just having a look around the local area/beaches but we could always go back in Busch Gardens if we opt for the flexticket. Any comments greatly appreciated from anyone!

Personally i think you do need 2 days to be sure to do and see everything BC has to offer.

I was only there 7 hours and though i did most of what i wanted i did miss quite a bit and was rushing around trying to do everything before i had to leave.

If there are 4 or more of you in your family and you plan on doing almost everything on offer then yes certainly go for the two days.

Most days the park is open from 9.30 to 7.00 depending on the time of year so if you do go for just the one day you would for sure need to be there as it opens and stay till it closes.

You can make great savings by getting a two day pass and im sure they sell them cheaply on this site.

Good luck and enjoy your visit, you will love it.

John.

I'm a big fan of Busch Gardens. It has something for everyone. You've captured all the variety. Nice one.

That new coaster looks like it's going to be wicked.

Wonderful photos, the weather looked alot nicer than when we went on our one and only visit...it was pretty windy. I keep saying we should go and visit again when its warmer. My kids kept wandering around asking where the Disney characters were...they were only young and thought all the theme parks were Disney!:D

We enjoyed this park but only had 1 day which isn't enough to do and see everything. It was great to see the animals especially the tigers;the log flume was great and the kids loved rhino rally!

Best idea to get the 5 day ticket, you need two days to do Busch Gardens justice and you need a few days for IOA and Universal, cant miss Seaworld and Wet n Wild is great?(this is an ideal 1/2 days visit-paired with the shopping in Universal Drive) I have booked the 5 park tickets for all of us for this years visit.

We left Busch until las when we visited in 2002. We were absolutely shattered and parked out....so it spoiled it really. We had ruled out another visit when we go back to Orlando in August but your photos are making me wonder we should give it another try.
