Over the years we have flown around the Orlando area, visiting many places and seeing many beautiful sights from above.
I know John fly's, are there any other light aircraft pilots out there who would like to discuss costs, good places to visit.
We will be out for sun-n-fun in April.
Hows this for a start, places to visit :-

Cedar Key - Jack Browns (Sea Plane)
River Ranch - Key West
St. Augustine-

Hi Mark and Emma,

We're out for Sun N Fun, go most years, great fun and lovely weather.
Were you there last year and get to see that beautiful old biplane with the jet engine. Brilliant! We spent some time talking to one of the engineers and he told us that next year (this year) they were hoping to come back with a vertical thrust engines. Will be looking forward to see if they made it.

We'll be there for Sun N Fun too! Might bump into you.

We'll be the ones wearing Orlando Villas baseball caps (only joking!) :)

Hi Jacqui

First time we have managed to get out there for sun-n-fun, should be good, looking forward to it.
Hoping to meet john and sarah floridadreamvilla there too, perhaps we could have a meeting there.

You must fly to key west if you get a chance, stop on route for a coffee or lunch, the view is wonderful, motels are more expensive there than orlando but for one night its worth it.

Hi Mark

Sounds good. I would imagine you'd have to fly waring life jackets as there is a lot of water around the keys :).

What's it like to forced landing areas?

[:I)Well john to be honest we didn,t as you never get that far from land going down the east coast,i don,t think they worry quite as much as we do, a few years back we flew LA to Catalina about 30 miles over water and the instructer just said as long as you get to 10,000 ft by the time you coast out you can either glide on or turn back if you have trouble !!

Hi Mark

Don't think I'd be doing 30 miles over water without jackets on - certainly not in our Arrow as it's very heavy and drops like a stone when the prop stops.

You should see a glide approach - you have to turn base leg when you are abeam the numbers at the end of your downwind leg. Even then you only just make the field <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>.

You have to warn all in the circuit what you are up to as it's not the normal path for a glide approach!

Another afternoon out, we went to Deland which is south west of Daytona, they do alot of sky diving. Sat around eating wings in their rather nice bar watching the sky divers.
