From our 2003 trip at MGM star wars weekends. Going again may 7th and can't wait!

When are Star Wars weekends on as my 6 year old would absolutely love them - he's totally mad about Star Wars [msnsmile]
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at MGM from 20 May - 12 June 2005. You can enter 30 mins before park hours and gather on Hollywood Boulevard.
Disney suggests that you might like to dress in Star Wars gear for your visit (although he was Peter Pan the last time I met him! :)). If he looked really cool, he might get picked for the Jedi Training Academy.

New film is released 19th may which we will see at AMC in Downtown disney and will visit MGM on Saturday 21st.Last time we went we only had 1 day at MGM and found it hard to drag the kids away from the star wars area so this time we'll have 2 days,1 for star wars and 1 for the rest of the park!

My son (24[msnoo]) woulld love it. Pity we've only just come back!
do star wars charecters appear other than at the weekends as we are over end of july and I carn't say I have seen any on previous visits

How do the weekends work - do you need a special ticket or just your normal park ticket? How do they know who to let in half an hour early?

I didn't know they let you in the park early, but then again after 15 years of going to Florida we've never yet managed to get to a park for opening [msnembarrased]
You don't need a special ticket for the Star Wars weekends though, your normal park tickets will get you in. Maybe those who get early entrance are the ones who dress up? I'm sure blott will know though.

No doubt the Star wars weekend will be very popular!!
Has anyone got any good photos of Chewy? I just love him, there was a Star Wars weekend when we were there last may, but unfortunately the que was too long to meet him:( I got one quick shot of him, not very good though I'll resize it and try and post later;) Thanks.:)

Pictures are great. We are out from the 21 May for 2 weeks, so will be going to MGM to see this. I am a real Sci-Fi addict and this will really be something I will look forward to.[msnsmile2]

We went to the Star Wars Weekend at MGM today and had a great time. We especially liked the two Stormtroopers on the roof of the entrance plaza entertaining the crowds whilst they waited for the park to open - they were very funny!

One of our best friends has travelled out for the week with his two sons.....totally planned the trip around the Star Wars Weekend...he is absolutely obsessed with it.
Last time I watched Star Wars was in the 80's and looking at your great photo with Darth Vadar there....I am still a bit scared of him!!!!![:I]

LOL - he was acting veery much in character and scaring most of the people who had their photo taken with him :D
