Rosie - do you know which communities you were flying over?

You look as though you're very close to the water in the first one[msnscared]

Is the second pic showing a close-up of Hwy 27 area around Sand Mine Road / Publix (Berry Town Centre) / and Highlands Reserve?

Not been up myself but the configuration looks right!

Depending on the weather/wind we often see the balloons in the early morning at Calabay Parc as we take our sunrise swim!

Last time we were there there was a yellow one with a big smiley face on it - brough a big smile to our faces too!

Caroline, once I got my bearings I could pick out a few communities. I have one of Calabay and Four Corners that I'll post. The second pic is indeed Highlands Reserve.

We flew with a company called Bluewater Balloons, but there were actually 18 balloons from all different companies that take off together.

It was the most wonderful feeling just floating over the top of everything, our height ranged from a couple of hundred feet to around 5000 ft, and the only thing you can hear is the birds and crickets.

It wasn't in the least bit scary as it was all so very serene. I can't wait to do it again [msnsmile2]

Many thanks Rosie - we can make out our place too!

Can I be cheeky and ask if you would mind me sharing the view with some of our fellow owners on Calabay as I'm sure they would love to see this view of their house?

Pictures look brilliant Rosie, must have been quite exhilarating. Was is just the two of you in the basket? I know Pete would love to do it but I'm not so sure[msnscared]

Andy if you want me to send the full pic then let me know, I had to crop it somewhat to get it on here [msnsmile]

Anna, there were 5 of us in the basket, 4 guests and the pilot. There isn't a lot of room for manoevure once your all in, but we managed to swap places so we could all get the all round view. I'd say if you only have a small doubt about doing it, then go for it. The guy with us was scared of heights, his wife bought him it as a wedding present and other than when we were about 5000ft he loved it and can't wait to do it again [msnsmile2]

Failing that I'll offer to go up with Pete, it was just so good [msncool]

23-03-2005, 03:38
Looking at your pics made me think I may give it a go next time i go over, until i saw the last one, looks abit like a crash landing, or was the basket tipped over after you got out.

Although I don't like heights this is one thing that I would like to do, maybe one day[msnwink]. It looks great.

rosie
23-03-2005, 13:45
Mark, the landing was rough as we had to land somewhere as we were running low on fuel so the pilot ditched in an orange grove and we all ended up in a heap with the basket on top us. It sounds much worse than it was, it really wasn't scary at all and we were all laughing, no one even got more than a scratch.

Most of the balloons landed where they were supposed to in the field where we had the champagne breakfast, luckily they saved some for us [msnsmile2]

LiesaAnna

sounds wonderful!!! i am scared of heights but would so love to do this maybe one day!!![msnwink] until then everyone else can do it and tell us about it with photos of course!

Rosie, I might just take you up on your offer. I showed Pete the pictures and he's really keen on going up[msneek]. Can you let me have the details of the balloon company etc. I might just surprise him [msnwink]

How's the 'missing' palm doing. Did you manage to get it replaced?
When we go out next month, we'll drive past and check it's still there!
