Well, we travelled to London yesterday, stood outside in the freezing cold for an hour & hubby was let in the embassy. I amused myself down Oxford street with all the shops for a couple of hours & out he came big smile on his face :D visa granted.

Phew! what a relief - now we can relax and look forward to our holiday in August instead of panicking!

Thanks to all for your input on this matter

Congratulations! I bet you both are happy and relieved. Now you can start planning your holiday in earnest.

On a lighter note, did your husband's smile slip a bit as he saw how you had been 'amusing yourself' at the Oxford Street shops? ;)

Best of luck dodgey memory - hope all goes as smoothly for you but one word of advice - wrap up warm because you wait outside for at least an hour (doesn't seem to matter what time your appointment is & don't get there early thinking you'll be seen quicker!!!)

Good luck :)

It was a 10 year visa [clap] - means we can visit Florida again soon without having to re-apply
