My son's wife is expectng her baby the first week of November 2005. They wish to join us in Florida for New Year, does anyone now if this means they would need to get a visa as Passport wouldn't be issued until after October 2005?

Unless the biometric passports become available between now and whenever they apply for it then the baby will need a visa, as it stands, but won't need to go to the Embassy for "interview".
I think it is between the ages of 14 and 69? that personal attendance is compulsory.
