We are coming to Kissimmee for a family vacation and would like to get married while we are there. What are some of my options. We don't want anything elaborate, just simple. We don't want to spend a fortune. Thanks, Laniza[8)]

The Little White wedding chapel in Kissimmee does weddings to suit all tastes and price ranges from the "kiss me quick package" at $100 to "a wedding of a lifetime" at $950 including limousine, champagne and red carpet. See www.whitechapelweddings.com. Another wedding chapel is the Victorian wedding chapel in Downtown Kissimmee at http://www.flwedusa.com offering a package with wedding cake, champagne and photographs for $695. This looks like a really pretty venue.
My own personal favourite ( if my daughter ever gets married) would be Cypress Gardens. Their ceremonies start at around the $1000 mark. There is a link from their web site. Or if you feel lucky with the weather and risk getting married outside in a garden setting, Bok Tower does a package for $250. See http://www.boktower.org/overview/weddings.html

Well, there's always going totally OTT:

The epitome of Disney romance can be summed up in four words — Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings. Since the first wedding at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion in 1995, more than 2,300 couples each year have tied the knot at Walt Disney World Resort.

For these couples, dreams become reality. Where else but at Disney could a bride arrive for her wedding in Cinderella’s glass coach, have a handsome major domo carry wedding rings to the altar in a glass slipper, or have Mickey and Minnie greet guests at the reception?

Whether it’s an elegant ball at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, a traditional ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, a country hoe-down at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, or a beach-themed wedding complete with tiki torches, leis and luau on one of the Walt Disney World white-sand beaches, Disney custom designs each wedding with the famous “Disney Difference” -- providing attention to the tiniest detail.

Disney’s wedding specialists become the fairy godmother, incorporating all the elements including ceremony, entertainment, cuisine, floral arrangements, audiovisuals and themed accommodations. For more information on Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, call 407/828-3400, or for those who’ve already tied the knot back home, ask about Fairy Tale Honeymoon packages by calling 800/370-6009.

but make sure you are sitting down before you read it as they are not cheap.

The Little White Wedding does offer a very good package and my be worth looking seriously at.

It depends how much you want to spend. My daughter got married in Mt Dora in October last year.

The notary who performed a beautiful ceremony cost $55
A licence was about the same
We went to a lovely quaint little tea rooms and had a chicken pie starter, followed by a beef dish and a choice of scrumptious dessert-we took our own champagne and I think for 9 of us incl 4 bottles of champagne was about £200/$300

My daughter's flowers were about £20/$35-a hand tied bouquet of fresh pale and dusky pink roses-very pretty and the cake was about £30. It was heart shaped and decorated as she wished.

The biggest expense of the day was the wedding venue at Darst Victorian Manor which was £60/$100 to hold it in the garden-or in the victorian parlour if it rained. The happy couple had to stay one night in the victorian suite which was about $225/£140.

However-if she had wanted to get married by the lake-it wouldn't have cost anything. We just wanted to hedge our bets in case -we had a shower-which thankfully we didn't.

Oh yes-forgot the photos -we paid for an hour of the photographer's time which was $350/£200-and the photos were stunning. This chap usually does huge 200/300 wedding guests weddings and charges in the region of $2000-so we were delighted.

My daughter bought her dress in Florida. It was absolutely beautiful-and a fraction of the cost here.

We had a wonderful day and just wish we could do it all again. It was easy peasy to organise-and we had no stress at all.

It couldn't have been more simple if we tried. It was 95 degrees and suits were banned. The men wore smart casual trousers and short sleeved shirts. The ladies wore light weight dresses etc. The groom wore smart trousers, long sleeved white shirt and waistcoat.

It didn't go on too long-nobody got drunk and spoilt it-it was just idyllic.

Go for it and if you need any more help just get in touch.

I got married in Orlando 10 years ago in a hot air balloon.

They partially inflated the balloon canopy on the ground, we had the ceremony inside with all our friends looking on. The photos were so colourful.

Then 4 of us went up for an hour balloon ride, had an eventful landing, then joined the rest of the party at a wedding breakfast in a nearby hotel. It was all part of the package.

A wonderful day, really something different and remembered by everyone.

Have a look at this web site if you're interested in this type of wedding.

What ever you decide to do, I wish you luck and happiness, along with a truly memorable day.

I bought my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses from Florida - David's Bridal, off the I4. They have a great web site, so check it out. My dress and my 2 bridesmaids dresses, complete with all alterations were $1000 - and they turned all the alterations around in one week. They were superb.
