I've steered well clear of MusicMatch as I had heard other things like this about them.
Sounds like you need to re-set your iPod using the Apple supplied software and then let iTunes copy the music back to the iPod.

It started when I rather foolishly allowed MusicMatch to upgrade itself. It looks like it's syncing. It takes the right amount of time to be syncing. It just doesn't add any new music to the iPod.
