Hi guys

my niece phoned me to help with her homework, basically its the English equivalent of these US words or phrases. I've done what I can but for the life of me can't think what these equate to
1, closer? (not sure if it means the equivalent of completing on a house or moving nearer)
2, glue factory?
3, comfort station?

Anyone help? thanks [msnsmile]

A comfort station is a public toilet I think. I'm a bit stumped with the other ones!

A Closer is a baseball term, something to do with guarding a lead near the end of a game.

Glue factory is the knackers yard.[msneek]

I have to say that these are not common terms. Comfort station I thought was used for a restroom, but not commonly. Glue factory I've only ever heard in relation to joking where to send an old horse. And not sure what closer is supposed to be. In relation to baseball, I thought it would be the relief pitcher that finishes off the game.

Teresa it is slang for a relief pitcher.

Oh good! I don't suppose the prize is some sort of food? Maybe a cheesecake?;)

LOL Teresa, only if you can buy cheesecake in WH Smiths (UK bookstore) but we could buy a cookbook and make one [msnwink]
