What a ride.....don't think I will bother....don't like rollercoasters at the best of time but have had a go at the odd one, none at Universal Studios....apparently they are to be my next goal...[xx(][V]

WOW! Great pics Kiddie! This one really looks like my kind of Coaster and I cannot wait to go on it (front row please!) after reading your report. I'm in Chicago in late May and had plans to visit Six-Flags. Instead, maybe I can nip over to Toledo and drive to Sandusky from there to Cedar Point. Could be worth the effort.

No silly! They mean that they'll give you the $25 million if you do the ride from the front row and then stand absolutely still immediatly afterwards balancing a pint of beer on the top your head for a full minute.;)

They did a show over here where you had a front row view of that ride......and a few others......

That's true of a lot of big roller-coasters. Looking at the diving, looping and twisting cars laden with their shreiking cargo might put you off from the outside. But once you are actually sitting in one, all you have is thrilling anticipation! I certainly will go on this one on the first chance that I get.[msnsmile2]

Oh I would love to go on that. Unfortunately I don't think my vertigo could stand it. A couple of years ago I went on a much smaller ride at Busch Gardens but afterwards spent 30 minutes staggering around like some drunken idiot feeling rather ill [msnsad] My kids thought it was hilarious :)

I discovered that with almost all big rides it is a question of breaking the mould. I had not even seen a rollercoaster till I was 23 years old, but once I rode my first one, the subsequent rides became progressively easier. Most people who feel scared about riding big rollercoaters and suchlike are probably intimidated by the advertising images and so on. Once they bite the bullet and and have a go themselves, most will probably become addicted to the rides (like me [msnembarrased])

MaggieAllan

No Nostromo...they make me physically ill...I have "had a go" in my teens, twenties, thirties and forties....and I haven't become addicted yet...I find rides that spin Ok and simulators etc, and the small ups and owns and speed like on Mummy are OK, but these big ones are just not for me and others like me.

The advertising actually looks good..but the actual rides..no thank you..and I'm not scared for my children or hubby..I wish I could do them, but it's just not worth it for how ill they make me.

I would not get on this for all the money in the world. My husband would and so would my girls.
Nostromo, my husband talked me into going on Kracken, he said " once you have been on one you will love it and go on them all." I hated every second of it and thought my heart would stop when we came down the first drop. I thought it would never end.[msneek]

Nostromo

Maggie & Sally, I understand what you are saying. If any ride makes you physically ill - as in motion sickness or similar - then obviously you will never get used to it. But I was talking about those who hesitate to go because of FEAR and nothing else, in which case, what I suggested will eventually work.

Ray&Sarah
04-02-2005, 20:47
Afraid I must be the exception to the rule then Nostromo, well theres always one![msnwink][msnsmile2]
I have been on a few white knuckle rides over the past few years with my eldest son and still hate the things, would rather hold the bag! Luckily my hubby will go on them now as he like you got over his fears and is now a bit of an addict.[msnsmile2]

Show me were the queue starts. I'll be there so will my girls husband may lag behind as last year was the first time we got him on a roller coaster mind you he has been on all the major ones.

I just wish it was in Orlando and not in Ohio.

Of course in a few months it will no longer be the highest coaster as the new Kingda Ka in New Jersey overtakes it at 456 feet high.

My sentiments exactly. I've got friends in Brooklyn that I just remembered that I am eager to meet ;). Kingda Ka? Looks like a piece of Kake!
