I think if anyone deserved a medal and a half, it should be my poor, sweet mother-in-law. Unselfish and self-scarificing to a fault, she has been married to the same cantankerous character for 58 years and still going strong. And, what's more, he still bugs her every day!!

Married in 1969, known him all my life. Sometimes I lean on him sometimes he leans on me. If something separated us I think we would both fall over. That doesn't mean that we don't have some different interests and friends.
I often go to Florida and leave him here working [msnsmile]

It is very intersting to note how many of us here in this OV 'virtual family' have been happily married for many years, seemingly well above the national average. Perhaps it tells us something about ourselves (apart from the fact that a lot of us are in a certain age group [msnwink])

He finally asked me[:I] My parents had long given up hope and so had I:D I guess he wanted to be sure and after living together for over 10 years, owning a business together for nearly 9 years, he finally made his mind up:) We had a great day and it was lovely that the children were a part of it. I drove myself and my Dad to the wedding in Wayne's classic car, and we went on honeymoon to Florida (where else;)) with the girls and both sets of parents:D

Lived together for 3 years and married for 27 in July - despite my father (Scottish, Army, Catholic - need I say any more??) threatening Chris with a gun when he discovered we were living together! One year later we got engaged and then they happily threw a big wedding for us while muttering quietly to themselves why couldn't they have done this a year ago and not had all this bother!!
