we have just received notification that we are going to have to pay a surcharge this summer on our flights of £13 per section. As the flight entails a stopover in each direction this means each of us will pay £52. This now means an extra &208 for a family of four. Lots of money!
ps this is to Cairns, Australia with Japan A L, but I thought all the fuel surcharges were last years news. Any comments?

I must say that I am shocked. I had heard of this fuel surcharge of course, but thought it was about $10 per person and as this did not seem much, thought nothing of it. But to charge £13 per section of the flight is apalling and when you calculated the total cost to your family, it certainly became a tidy amount. Selfish policy on part of the airline, I think.

Just out of interest, does anyone know if ALL passengers, irrespective of how they have booked their tickets, have to pay this fuel surcharge?
