There has been a lot of talk about the love/hate relationship with the one and only "It's a Small World" attraction at MK. I thought it was time to run a poll to see what people really thought of it.

OUr youngest son loved this ride, made us go on it again and again and he never got fed up. The dolls are good but man does that tune get on your nerves after a while.[msnoo][msnsmile]

I like it. I guess I am a child at heart and also like to see the other families enjoying the ride.

I am amazed that the love/hate ratio is 8:0 considering how many people have rubbished the ride. I suppose they have not even bothered to look at the thread yet, but I expect the 'hate mail' to start pouring in soon.[msnwink]

I didn't like it, the kids liked it, but I wouldn't want it closed for those that do like it

Well I despise it!!!!!

I only have to see the words in print like here to have that blessed tune in my head....I don't even like walking past, in case it drags me in!!! It's all a bit creepy to me....like clown dolls in scary movies...I'm sure there are subliminal messages, and you're all being brain washed[msnwink][msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]

I love Small World. One of my earliest memories is going to the NY World's fair in 1963 and going through Small World.

Did you mean the NY world fair of 1964-5? I was almost taken to it, but missed out in the last minute :(. All I have is a few old memorablia and footage on DVD.

Yes, sorry for the typo. It was 1964. We lived in NY, so we went a couple of times. Then, when my parents took us to Disneyland when I was about 12, Small World was the first ride I wanted to do!

I was a kid when the Seattle World Fair of 1962 and NY one a couple of years later took place. Growing up in India, reading about them and watching the news documentaries at the local cinema was like an out of this world experience for me. I have collected some memorablia from those fairs and am still looking for those old-fashioned 3D 'View Master' reels. One of my ambitions is to see the "Bubbleator" from the Seattle fair which someone in the USA bought and is using as a greenhouse!

I went on this ride when I visited Florida for the first time when I was 18. We stayed in Fort Lauderdale with friends who lived there and took a trip to WDW - the first ride I was taken on was this one and I loved it. (Many)Years later, we took the kids on and they love to hate it, but always want to go on it, and keep joining the end of the queue to go on again. It would be good if it does re-open.
