No, I haven't misspelt it! A short while earlier, I passed the office of our Practice Manager and noticed that he was sitting on a very large grey ball instead of his usual chair. After the usual jokes about 'Chief Sitting Ball' and all that, he told me that it was a 'gym ball' recommended for back pain, and was helping him a lot. Never having seen this contraption before, I had a go and it felt very comfortable. Can also be used to play with and relive stress. Made by Reebok and £6.99 at Argos.

I thought some of you might find this info useful.

I suffer with back pain quite alot and use one of these gym balls.
As well as sitting on them it is great to lay on it to stretch your back. Well worth the money.

I've had a look at the Argos website and I haven't found the Reebok one yet, but there is another one for £3.99 !!! that can be used by anyone up to 125kg/20st.

I'm thinking of getting one for using whilst on here... so if my typing gets bouncy you know why[sporty][sporty][sporty]

I blaim my bad back on my 2 boys, although they weren't to blaim for me falling down the stairs, it didn't help matters having to carry them about.(they were 10lb7oz and 10lb11.5oz at birth, and before you ask, they came out of the sun roof)

My thoughts exactly Liesa[msnwink]

wouldn't exactly fit in the plane seat for the old coccyx though!!

Worth a try. The ball does not weigh much and they might be willing to remove a seat to fit the ball in its place! A bit difficult with seatbelts, though......[laugh][laugh]

Do these balls survive cats, and how long does it take to blow them up[msnwink]

If you have a foot pump you could do it in 5 minutes. I haven't got a cat so couldn't say if they are cat proof.

and mine never took any notice of it as did any other member of this house! another one of those contraptions that seemed like a good idea at the time! but maybe i'll borrow it back off kirsty and see especially now i know it should hold my weight[msnwink]

I have a longterm back injury and I use the swiss ball for exercising it. Great bit of kit and it was my physo who recommend it about 5 years ago. No pain no gain and all that[msncry]

I guess it's all down to position. Instead of lying on the ball you position it in the middle of the back with your back against the wall and wiggle it arround. [msnsmile2]

Maybe he is a Renee Zellweger lookalike. Now I am sure she can manage with a tennis ball!
