View Full Version : Teachers
Whats the low down on teachers working in the USA?
My wife is an English / English Lit. teacher. As well as "head of media". Mainly 13 - 17 year olds.
I guess she would earn more in a private school.
Anyone have any expierience on this?
Forgot to add.... We have lived there before, back in the 80's, with no problems, would they take that int account?
I was on a 2 year work permit then.
There was a long thread on teachers recently. Don't know if it will help

There is a shortage of teachers in Florida and you can view jobs on the Florida education department web site [website link edited]. This was helpful. The first thing you need to do is to get an agency to verify your qualifications. I used the Miami agency. They were very good. But to get a job on your own is difficult as it could take months to get the visa via the education department & there will always me an USA teacher looking for a job and would not have the hold ups. But what you can do is go to the USA and set up a small business then your spouse would be able to pick up a teaching job within a month our your vias, if that makes sense.[msnsmile]
