Well the Christmas of 2004 will go down in our memories for ever!

The whole build up had been a bit flat for us all this year, because my youngest daughter (Debra) would not be with us.

She left at the beginning of October to spend a year travelling. Mind you, she has been very good at keeping in touch. Emailing and phoning regularly.

My oldest daughter arrived fairly early with her husband and baby Sophie (16 months) so that brightened up the proceedings. Did all the present opening and then went off to do some preparing in the kitchen.

Just as I was in the middle of doing the sprouts, I heard the front door open and then a squeal from the lounge!! I presumed that it was my son and his girlfriend, who had also promised to pop in during the morning.

I couldn't believe it!! It was Debra. She had decided that she had spent enough time away from home and had managed to get a flight from Australia without a word to any of us!!

THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!!!!!
