CALL USA FOR FREE. The Post Office has launched a £5 Xmas phonecard allowing calls to the USA free on Saturdays, from 12pm-12am (all day Xmas Day) for 90 days after the card is first used.

For someone calling USA a lot it's a good deal. However it's not so great if you don't call often. Some providers charge 0.5p permanently anyway, and the Post Office card isn't competitive to other countries, so the fiver won't stretch so far.

However if you were to call the USA for a number of hours every Saturday over the 90 days, it's a bargain

If you sign up with talk talk from the carphone warehouse, you get a years free weekend and evening calls to the USA, Australia, Canada and the UK.

My phone bill this month with 28 calls, 7 to the USA and one to Canada was a massive £1.33!![msnwink]
