Have just found out that there is a rocket launch scheduled while we are in Florida next - 8th Jan 2005. Has anyone been to view before? Where would people recommend viewing? Any nice overnight hotel to book into nearby?

We have seen two from Cocoa Beach sat on the pier...and plenty of hotels along the front.
If the weather's not too cloudy, which it probably won't be in January, you can see launches from Kissimmee!

We are hoping to see this launch too - if the weather's good, we'll probably head for Cocoa Beach and watch from there.
Just checked the launch for my birthday and they've put it back to Jan 12th and we go home on 11th[msncry][msncry][msncry]
Will have to think of something else to do on my birthday - any ideas?
Keep your eyes on the launch schedules though Linda and Drew. They don't bring launches forwards but there is an Atlas 5 due to go on December 17 and the reschedule for the Delta 4 Heavy is rumoured to be December 21. It isn't beyond the realms of possibility that either of these could delay into January due to bad weather or launch problems or a thousand other reasons. The first posted launch date for the Delta 4 Heavy was September 23rd ... 2003. You just never know!!!
