That looks like a fantastic sweeping/diving curve in the coaster coming out of the mountain - especially going in to it after just coming out of the tunnel.

Brilliant.

It is in AK and you can see it from the parking lot, and it is at the back of the park, so it is going to be BIG.

Every time you think we'll leave it a few years until we go back...lets try somewhere else ...they go and build something new....I'll never get to California, Arizona, New York again, Boston, Memphis, Texas..........Canada, Australia, South America......oh, course I will...just go round Epcot, and the rest of theme parks.

I've got to come up with a money making scheme...I wish I had an iventive mind.

This is taking some time to build, I saw a new ride being built at animal Kingdon in December 2003, I presume it is the same one unless anyone knows otherwise. Mind you I'd rather it took a few years to build and was completely safe than chucked up in a few months.

Looks like it will pobably have the highter height restriction (54") so that gives my son a bit longer to grow.

Looks very interesting. Is is a combo ride like The Mummy....combining CG simulation with a genuine rollercoaster ride? Our next trip is not until October 2007 ([V]) but it will be up and running by then with all the loopholes ironed out.

I'll try to get some but for now:-

The Story
Legend holds that high in the Himalayan Mountains lives an enormous creature that fiercely guards the route to Mount Everest.

Now that legend comes dramatically to life at Disney's Animal Kingdom in a new high-speed train adventure that combines coaster-like thrills with the excitement of a close encounter of the hairy kind.

Walt Disney World guests will discover for themselves the fearsome legend of the yeti when Expedition EVEREST opens in 2006 at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park.

"Expedition EVEREST adds a new dimension to our storytelling in Disney's Animal Kingdom," said Joe Rohde, executive designer at Walt Disney Imagineering and lead designer of the park. It's a thrilling adventure themed to the folklore of the mysterious yeti.

In Expedition EVEREST, guests board an old mountain railway destined for the foot of Mount Everest. The train rolls through thick bamboo forests, past thundering waterfalls, along shimmering glacier fields and climbs higher and higher through the snow-capped peaks.

But suddenly the track ends in a gnarled mass of twisted metal and the thrills intensify as the train races both forward and backward through mountain caverns and icy canyons and guests head for an inevitable face-to-muzzle showdown with the mysterious yeti -- known to some as the abominable snowman.[msneek].[msneek]

Disney have now revised the figure for the height of the drop. Since early 2003, it has been rumored that the height of the main drop was to be 80ft. On 8th November 2005, Disney officially announced to the press that the figure was infact 112ft. Members of WDI associated with the project, also spoke of the 110ft plus drop. It isn't clear how that figure was calculated, whether it was some creative number crunching (possibly using the total height of the track, which would be accurate, but wouldn't really be a figure for just the main drop) or something else. However, it seems to avoid mis-leading anyone, official Disney channels are now describing the drop as 80ft, which returns us back to our original information from 2003.
