Thought the baby elephant was cute and there were loads of these dragonflys (?) hanging about hovering over windscreens in the parking lot. Weird.

And as you can see it looks like the pool is warming up, not quite there yet but warm enough to get in today and feel kind of comfortable :D[clap]

Great pics. Where the elephants in Animal Kingdom? The baby is really cute. Thanks

The elephants were indeed in the Animal Kingdom on the Safari, we had to stop for 15 minutes as a giraffe had wandered onto the path a few jeeps ahead and was not gonna move for a silly little mouse ;).

To be honest the girls would have got in the pool when it was stone cold but they would have been blue in seconds. Another day and I reckon the pool will be as it should have been last week on arrival.

As for the baby, well she is just gone two and as anyone knows that age is the start of the fight for independence which carries on until they move out. She is currently the angriest little toddler I have ever met...

Brizzle, all the pics are great but from a photographic standpoint, the dragonfly one takes the cake (though I am not sure dragonflies like cakes [:o)]). Tell us how you got that one, please.

As I mentioned there were a few of these critters hovering about over car windscreens in the parking lot so decided I could probably get a decentish shot in.
They were a little jumpy so I couldn't get too close hence I ended up using the 12x zoom to shoot a few pics. Luckily a few were in focus enough.
The auto focus is also very quick on the Dimage Z3 which helps.

AK is really a good place to hang about and get some great pics

Thanks Steve, the pool today is exactly as it should be now, absolutely lovely.
The girls have not done much swimming in the UK (naughty us really) but both have taken to swimming around on their own with armbands (with us in there of course).
The two year old has surprised us by being a right little water baby as the pic below shows and she was jumping in from the side to us!!

Thanks for the comments.
I really go for 'percentages' and take loads of snaps.
The benefit with digital is you don't have to worry about using film. My Mum has bought a digital for this holiday and is still in the 'don't waste film mindset'. I have told her to just snap away and we will edit out the naff ones on the laptop later.

Believe me all my photo's don't end up with the correct exposure etc.. but the current camera does help with a live histogram which show the levels that the camera is picking up (helps you to avoid under/over exposure).

And the Florida sun does aid photography by having great light mostly all of the time not allowing for Steve's fantastic night pictures.

Your two year old looks like she loves the water, quick sign her up for lessons when you get back, she might be the female version of Ian Thorpe, in the making.:D

brizzle
23-11-2004, 02:07
Good idea about the little one being the female Ian Thorpe.
Of course I would need to move to Florida like all the tennis starlets do to aid her development :)

The pool is now lovely and warm thanks Blott.
The owners are over here at the moment and popped in the other day. Lovely couple who added a few bonus features to the villa; Disney pictures, rug, DVD player etc.. They are over for maintenance and staying in their other villa just up the road.

No pics today as yet as we shopped and shopped. Epcot this evening for Illuminations.

I will if you want ;)

Can anyone help me with a little Florida fact as well.
I saw in the sky today some fluffy white things that sometimes got in the way of the sun, in fact there were a lot more this afternoon for a while.
I think I heard someone say they were, and forgive me for the mis-spelling but I'll type it as I heard it, Clowdes? [8D];)

Not looking forward to the drop to a chilly 24C on Thursday.

Hi Brizzle, We've just got back and I wish I was still there. Your girls look about the same age as our boys, just turned 4 and 2.5. Its a great age especially when they have so much fun just splashing about in the pool. Our 2 year old got a bit over confident and decided he would dive into the pool after his daddy ( he did have arm bands on )
boy did he get a shock. He came back up very quickly and after the initial few tears was very pleased with himself.
We all love the Animal Kingdom but didn't get there this time. Your photos are great.
I better start planning our next trip.[msnwink]

Hi Linda,

The youngest is 2 years 3 months and the eldest is 5 in December so they are pretty much the same ages.
The 2 year old revels in jumping in from the side now, she bobs back up, takes a breath and grins the biggest grin ever.
Not sure if she is *too* over confident now though :)

And we found the perfect T-shirts today that sum them up perfectly

We've got Thing 1 and Thing 2 T-shirts for our two (6 & 3), it always gets a great response wherever it goes. We got them in the UK from a mail-order T-shirt catalogue. I will see if I can find out where.
