We have bought one of these for our son for Christmas. We bought in the US from costco in bundle and would like to know if i can use the US power supply in the UK. I dont want to open as its is a present and it's is all sealed. If you cant any suggestion on where you can buy a power supply for it.
We were told in the Us that the games work on both US and British systems, is this true?
Did you get it for a good price, were looking to buy 4 of them we go out in 3 weeks,
all of the games play in it we'v done some research on that

Can't help you with the power question, but yes the games from the US do work on the English Gameboys so assume it would work the other way round. Much cheaper to buy games in the US though, they are almost the same in dollars as they are in pounds. One way to get round the charging problem would be to use the in car charger as this is what we did when we went to the US as we didn't have the right power supply for mains charging.
sorry made a mistake there, [msnembarrased] it's the nintendo ds were after this time, did you notice if they had them, they came out in the states just last week

For the Gameboy Advance SP you can buy a power lead in Game in the UK. Our son did and it works fine.[msnsmile2]
You can use the US power lead with a plug adaptor:)

we found the adaptors in walmart!
when we last went, this is interesting as my youngest has asked for one and we've already bought her a TV and DVD combi, so dont want to go well overboard when theres another 5 kids and 4 grandchildren to buy for!
so if poss can you tell me where you get the gameboy advances from, but we definately saw adaptors in walmart but that was in 02

cost us i think $105 for the gameboy, mario game carry case and mario game guide. They were selling on their own for $80. New games are around the $30 mark.
Thanks for the advice

We bought one in the US in June and bought a charging cradle in Toys R Us in the Uk for about £20 (possibly less) - an in caqr charger was thrown in for free.

You need a Transformer plug for the USA GB SP Power Supply.
We bought a accessory pack from Virgin that lets you charge it up through the USB port and the Socket in the car.
Loads of options to go for.
When they see the Dual Screen Gameboy, that will be the next "Must have", Touch screen etc.....
More cash to lay out!
Comes out shortly!!

My eldest has been looking at it since Nintendo mentioned it last year!
I don't think Santa will be bringing it for him this year, Apparantly he can't make enough to go round! [msnwink]
The elf's are on a go slow!!
So he may have to wait until the Easter Bunny arrives with his eggs!!

Just after we get back from Florida! ooooops what a coincidence!!

could someone tell me if the ps2 games work on the ps2 systems in the u.k.also the likes of the xbox games.while we are at it,does the dvd's etc work on our systems? i'm thinking of the games in general.
The PS games from the US do not work in the UK and visa vera.
As for DVD's they do not generally work as the players are split into regions and the US and the UK are on different ones, however you can now get multiregion players, so it all depends on your player.

Our US Xbox will not play either UK DVD's or Xbox games. It has to be region 1 DVD'sa or NTSC Games.

Does the PS2 DVD Region X still work?
£10 for the disc that enables you to play other region DVDs on the PS2.
Chipping is the best and easiest way though!
Never play DVDs through our Xbox or PS2's, easier to play through DVD player.
Less hassle!

We got 3 of the new Ninento DS's last week and we had problems getting them. Every time we went into Walmart and other shops they had sold out. We phoned up Walmart one morning and they had just had a shipment in, and only had 8 left, they put it to one side.
If you want to play on both screens you need to buy new DS games, the old game boy advance games will only play on one of the screens.
We are just going to buy the adaptors so we can charge them, again these were for christmas and birthdays as they are not yet out in the UK.
Walmart & Best Buy are selling them at $145.

Some one told me they are out in UK in the spring but will cost £150.
Not sure how true this maybe but normally stuff in the UK is the same price in £ as the price in US$.

My eldest son has been dropping hints over us bringing him one back in Feb as he is not going on this trip due to school.
Looks like we have little choice!
Are they impressive??
