Just had to say a big thanks to the Car Hire folks on this site! We were over during the hurricane season & had our flight delayed by 4 days. The airport was closed so of course we couldnt take the hire car back & when we did we were just asked to 'sign here'. When we got back & checked the credit card we had been billed about £250 for keeping the car for the extra time! This certainly seemed like profiteering & I asked uscarhire if there was anything they could do - they intervened & basically sorted it all out - just a very minimal fee for the extra days use & all overpayments credited to our card. So Cheers John & Roger!! Again brilliant service[beer][clap]
Incidentally we were there with another group who had hired from Alamo & they are still struggling getting their excess payment returned![gun]And the car cost a lot more in the first place! They wont make that mistake again![msnmad]

On the subject of car hire,we fly out on wednesday and have booked a full size for two weeks. We now feel as there are four of us plus a child we may need a seven seater minivan. Any tips on haggling for the best deal on an upgrade. Anyone had luck this way.? Should be around another $200 dollars normally.

If you have booked through us then let us know your wishes by email right away and we can arrange for the upgrade. If you do it on arrival you will end up paying a lot more.

Absolutely none. We've tried and tried with both Dollar and Alamo and they flatly refuse to let us rent to drivers with just a US Driving Licence I'm afraid [msnsad]

No, Hurricane Sydney and Hurricane Libby, our two little Hurricanes.
We're more of a light breeze compared to them
Told my Mum and she called me in a panic until I explained it was a wind up.

Oh and so I'm not too off topic, this trip will be our third trip using this site for Car Hire and have had nothing but great prices and fantastic service.[clap]

I must say that we booked our car again with USCarhire, Fantastic deal as usual.

Then decided to upgrade to a convertible.

I was only charged the extra as if I had booked it from the beginning.

Great Service and quick to reply to our queries.

Thanks Sarah!!!!

Lynn[/quote]There's an option on the home page to order car seats - just under the pick up and drop off dates. They're $6 per day each, payable locally in Florida.

You're really better of taking your own though as you know its history and your child will be used to it. Most airlines will carry these free.

Spot on. We always advise people to take their own seats if at all possible as their child will be used to it and as a parent we did not think too much of the car seats offered by the rental companies.
