View Full Version : Which restaurant for the largest steaks??
Off to Orlando in early Feb and my husband is already dreaming of steaks!! Can anyone recommend a place that sells huge steaks?? He reckons he could eat any size! (he has got a good appetite and i would love to find a steak he couldn't manage!!
There are many steak houses to chose from, one of our favorites is the Black Angus.

I think the longhorn steak house is great and they do sell huge steaks If i remember rightly!!
Enjoy!!
Not sure about quantity, but for quality the best steak restaurant I've ever been to has to be "Ruths chris steakhouse"(strange name I know).
I visited one in Ft lauderdale, going back a few years now, but I remember then it was pretty expensive, but surroundings, service, and food exceptional.
There are a couple around the Orlando area.:)

We went to Key W Cools a couple of times (last time in 2002) and they did a 32oz steak. [msnoo]It was huuuuuuge, my 2 BIL's had one each

If you go to LOGAN's you can choose your steak from their refridgerator. Have it cut as big as you like.

We like the Outback Steakhouse. There is a good one behind the Premium Factory Outlets and we always eat there after Premium shopping!!!

wheres the mercado centre??
and where and what is cracker barrel?
also have heard people mention "chukkie cheese" what and where is it?;)
We alway love the steaks at the Outback, been going there for quite a few years now and have never had a bad one. They come in various sizes so all appetites are catered for, my personal favourite is the 12oz Outback special, centre cut sirlion (my mouth is watering at the thought)but must say I never manage it all, but my husband finishes the rest.......roll on January and then we can have another. There are loads of Outbacks all over, we always visit the one on the 192[clap]

The Mercado Centre is half way up International Drive and has small speciality shops, restaurants and an english pub, but it is a while ago that we visited.
Went to the cracker barrel on the 192, it serves tradional american food and has an old fashioned country store attached to it. We would love some of their rocking chairs for our balcony.
Alex will try to chew anything! The steaks are great at the Out back Steakhouse though and there's a nice atmosphere. Previously we have taken Alex into restaurants in his car seat but this time he will have to test out the high chairs!!!

Mooly, not wanting to be a killjoy,it is best to keep your protein intake low in the hot conditions. You feel more like salads, fruit and lots of water anyway
There was a T.V. programme that featured a restaurant in the area that offered a 24 ounce steak free (if you could eat it all)of course it was not a pretty sight and he failed anyway.
He looked as if he had eaten a steak or two in his life as well.
Dont forget to ask for a doggy bag as most restaurants feature appetite defeating portions

Cattlemans Steakhouse on the 535/192 junction, opposite Publix.
32oz Steaks.
Got back from Florida yesterday and was going to post about our favourite meal out, which fits very neatly into this topic.
We were very lucky to be taken out for a meal at Charley's which is mentioned above. It is on the 192. Turn east off the I4 and it is only a few hundred yards on the left.
If you ask, they will bring out all the cuts of steak on the menu. Some of them are huge. The sort of size that I would serve to the family for a Sunday roast!!
It is very popular, so booking is recommended.

I was going to give my vote to Charleys too. Not that I've been myself -but villa owning friends of mine -who have been to the Orlando area many more time than me always head to Charleys for a special night out. They think the one on IDrive is best.
One man co that I had gave me this tip-to look for a chop house for the best steaks and I believe Charleys is a chop house.
Last time we were in Orlando, we went to Ronnies on International Drive. I had a fantastic T-Bone, done to perfection. Also there is Wild Jacks, again on International Drive. Not as big, but a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere.

On topic but different part of the US, when we were in New York a couple of weeks ago, we went to a fabulous restaurant were they had a 48oz sterak ( supposedly to be eaten by two people )even so 24 ozs of steak is too much for one.
Going back to the topic...you cant beat Charley's (in my humble opinion) all I can say is excellent !!:D

North on the I-4 to Lee Road. Del Frisco's Steaks and Lobster. Voted 4 years running as the #1 in Orlando. Pricey, but fabulous. Huge double pour drinks, excellent service, quite enjoyable. Closed on Sundays, open for dinner all other days. Reservations a must!
